After taking his own life in February this year, Alexander McQueen's ashes have finally be laid to rest. In a statement, his family confirmed that his ashes were scattered on May 29th in Kilmur on the Isle of Skye, an island just off Scotland's west coast.

"Lee cherished the times that he was able to spend on the Isle of Skye - he enjoyed the beauty, peace and tranquillity," the family said in a statement reported by WWD.  "It was Lee's final request that his ashes should be buried at Kilmuir." The continued, "The McQueen family would like to make a special acknowledgement to Isabella MacDonald and her family of Kinloch Lodge Hotel, whose support at this sad time was of immense help in making it possible for them to carry out Lee's wishes".
