After Aliona Doletskaya departed from Vogue Russia earlier this year, many speculated that she would take over at Pop after Dasha Zhukova left the magazine after a year as editor. Despite the speculation, Doletskaya kept quiet about her next move but now it has been announced that she will launch Interview magazine in both Russia and Germany and will serve as editor for both publications.
The Russian editor has teamed up with Naomi Campbell's boyfriend, Vladislav Doronin and Bernard Runge to work on the launch with the Russian version set to hit newstands late this year and with the German version set for an early 2012 release. “Moscow and Berlin are cultural capitals of the modern world. The progressive, open-minded communities in those cities are booming," she said when the news was announced. "They have the drive and desire to grow, to discover, to move forward. Interview has always been a creative platform for talented individuals unafraid to break taboos and freely express their artistic vision. Now is the time to do so on this side of the ocean.”
