Nobody does dark romance quite like John Rocha. His Spring/Summer 12 collection yesterday was hauntingly beautiful. Each season builds on the next as Rocha plays with his signature nude and black colour palette on a mixture of sheer chiffon tops with ruffle detail along with intricate structured feathered dresses that came pronounced from the waist down styled with dramatic headwear. Strong pleats came diagonally on the front of black dresses and fringing came along the hem of sheer over the knee styles.
London is well known for being a hot bed of new design talent but not much is made of the established brands that continue to fly the flag for British fashion and if we ever needed an ambassador for what London can do, John Rocha is the perfect candidate. As always, the attention to detail with this collection and his careful experimentation with fabrics and structure this season continue to put him in a league of his own.
