You'll be forgiven for thinking that Azealia Banks is older than her 21 years. Since launching on the scene with 212 she's made it clear that she knows where's she going and exactly how to get there. As Karley Sciortino wrote in Banks' cover story in the September issue of Dazed & Confused, 'the intensity of her ambition is almost scary' - a sentiment that Rankin echoes.
As far as her fashion ambitions go, in little over a year she's managed to work with everyone from Nicola Formichetti to Alexander Wang and her new single sees her partnering up with Rankin again, who she worked with on the video of Liquorice too.
If you've been following her on Twitter you'll know that she shot the video for 'Van Vogue' recently in London in the photographer's studio. According to Grazia, the shoot took place 'at night, after a huge water tank had been specially built' for Banks to play around and generally get her sexy on. 'Azealia is a real grafter, and has a very clear vision,' Rankin told the title. 'She knows her own mind - and that makes each collaboration with her really inspiring, and challenging too! She knew exactly what she wanted, and tirelessly worked towards getting it. I love working with her,' he added.
As far as the clothes go, the video features a lot more brands that we've seen from her in the past thanks to stylist Scott Robert Clark who managed to secure looks from Roberto Cavailli, Miu Miu and Hugo Boss. Saying that, I still feel like there's something missing. While the styling in her videos is getting better, I'm still waiting for her to have that big moment. She definitely has the potential.
