'The Beautiful Life' And The Damned

'The Beautiful Life', CWs new fashion drama produced by Ashton Kutcher and loosely based around his life as a model before he broke into acting, has been axed by the CW network following continuously weak ratings.

The show, which had drawn in the likes of Mischa Barton, Elle Macpherson and Corbin Bleu, and Zac Posen for a cameo role, was set to be the new high-gloss/high-fashion drama we had been looking forward to whilst we awaited for the return of 'Gossip Girl'.

The show has been dealing with issues since its inception, most notably the admission of Barton to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in July, which resulted in production being postponed. Rumour has it that the low ratings, a mere 1- 1.4million viewers, the lacklustre and somewhat cheesy script, amongst other things, were to blame for the show being axed. It will now be temporarily replaced with re-runs of the 'new look' Melrose Place, starring Ashley Simpson-Wentz.
