London Fashion Week felt a bit slow yesterday. Aside from Sass & Bide and Maria Grachvogel, the collections failed to live up the great shows we saw in New York from designers like Phillip Lim, Peter Som and Prabal Gurung but that all changed this morning when Inacio Ribeiro and Suzanne Clements, the duo behind Clements Ribeiro, showed their S/S12 collection.
The brand is known for their prints and this season was all about the paisley print rather than the digital prints and floral styles that have dominated the shows so far. The styled appeared on a series of knee length dresses and simple short sleeved tops teamed with clean lined skirts. Alongside a thigh skimming pair of shorts were a longer knee length loose fit version that was the perfect middle-ground between going really short with your shorts or wearing trousers. The collection was sexy but in a subtle way. Racer back tops and cut outs on the back of dresses showed off the models arms and back beautifully. The colour palette started off with blues and pinks and later developed into monochromatic looks and black lace being introduced along the bust and hemline of dresses.
My favourite piece from the collection? The killer bright pink and nude heels platforms.
