D&G Time Ad Does A Threesome

To all you Black Friday shoppers out there, we wanted to post something to, well, help you decompress after a potentially crazy day. And hey, if it's a little steamy, then so be it. Enter the new D&G Time commercial, which features the obsession of the moment, the threesome. (You maybe can thank 'Gossip Girl' for that one.) Directed by Cyril Guyot - who also has shot for YSL, Prada, Lancome, Tom Ford and Tommy Hilfiger - and based on the vision of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, the commercial starts with a young couple getting passionate in a Parisian apartment. When a third man happens upon them, of course he has to join. As the girl's mum catches the menage et trois in action (gasp!), she lets out a horror-film scream and covers her mouth with her hand, which means she has to flash the D&G watch on her wrist.

We say that's perfect product placement in a gorgeous film spot, but as usual, it looks like D&G will stir up some controversy. Remember when their Time ad showed the first gay kiss on a TV commercial? Us too. And we say: Keep us guessing, D&G.

The commercial should be pulled. The models in the threesome look under age and it is vulgar and objectifies women. Speaks to the overall depravity of the idle rich these days. This is not the values that most people live by.

I feel that this is totally inappropriate. To sexual for daytime TV. This is what is wrong in society today. By allowing this type of advertising we are selling ourselves out to imorale and deviant behavior. Its no wonder we have so many issues with our children and young adults today. Sexuality of this nature should be kept to the confines of ones home and bedroom. I will never buy a D & G product.

I agree that this commercial should be pulled. It isn't appropriate to be on day time TV. Parents of small kids have a hard enough time keeping track of what the kids are watching. Is every kind of shock value ok for our society? When do we decide something is not ok to sell a product? If the idea was to invoke a strong emotion, it worked. I will never buy a D&G product now. Who is the focus audience anyway? Apparently, it isn't folks my age.

I was shocked when I saw it. It was during the middle of the day - on a weekend - on channels that advertise family shows. If it were late night on MTV I wouldn't even know about it - but I was so offended and now I am scared everytime we watch Style network that it's coming on. Besides - the commercial is dumb anyway - it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with watches. It is totally inappropriate and I hope more people speak out about it. Its obligatory sexual content is obseen and vulgar!!!

"""""""""I was shocked when I saw it. It was during the middle of the day - on a weekend - on channels that advertise family shows.'''''''''''''' This is why the US will never be like the European nations, There are too many prudes in the US for this nation to thrive, the Auto Bahn is another example, They have a lot of training and its a privilege not a right, much like how the human body is viewed as part of nature, when you take the taboo out of the equation it becomes not such a big deal, The commercial has nothing to do with sex or a threesome for that matter but neither dose much of the commercial of products advertised now, If you have a problem with the commercial you should take that up with your tv station and not with the company expressing its legal rights of freedom of speech, much as you all have your freedoms i have seen just about worse walking by the A&F and stores such as those with their models wearing almost nothing, and yet you all go and take your kids to the mall. All I'm saying is you don't want to see it turn off the tv and put in a dvd and let that raise your kids,or better yet give them a ball or take them to the park this nation is too fat any way, and remember sex sells and always will. If you want to change that, vote your lesser of two evils in to office to change the laws!!!!!!! my views may be random much like my points but look past your judgments of me and look at what was written, and you will see it makes much more since. I hope your wife appreciates the fine watch she wears when she catches your daughter in a three-way. After all, you are bringing you kids up that open sexuality is "not such a big deal". Hope they enjoy the Playboy channel.

I think the D & G Time commercial (Threesome should be pulled) It is absolutely not a selling point for me or my faimly, My kids (5&3yr) and I saw that commercial and my kids asked me what those men were during with the lady and why they were naked with the lady SO THANK YOU SO MUCH....That makes me want to go out and buy the D & G watch....(NOT)...

I love this commercial! Shocking but I totally understood their point of going all the way like that. That's what D&G is all about! I've lived all over the world and people here are SO uptight! This country has the highest suicide rate and the highest rate of turning out serial killers!!! That has to speak for the way we raise our children... think about it.

Serial Killers is a term that the U.S. and a few other countries have given to a particular group of people that other countries do not define, so how can you make that assesment? Garantee you we do not have more serial killers than some countries in Africa going off of our definition. Also I do believe the suicide rate is highest in China. China also kills their baby girls as well. Does that make the country as a whole a serial killer? So what you said is not a fact, but I can tell you what is a fact. Europe has a very high rate of STD's. boom

Dear lord, what have we gotten ourself into? Sex on TV? This is a new low for most adds. I'm a child, and found this on a channel I watch all the time. But now, it's everywhere, and I am sorry for that woman, needing to put herself out like that. Why are women only hot on TV?

Well, to be fair, you probably weren't going to buy a D&G watch anyway. I didn't mind the commercial. I lived in Europe for 5 years and me and my children saw more suggestive ads there. I also lived in Japan where this would be a to steamy for the TV shows I saw there.

Sex is a big deal because of the children. Won't somebody think of the children?

Seriously, kids will be too clueless to either know or care about what's going on in the advertising, or they'll already know about it. What, precisely, would censoring this advertisement accomplish? Delaying the inevitable fact that kids will learn about sex? Possibly even that sex can happen between two or more people? Scandalous.

It is so typical of puritanical Americans to react in the negarive to this expression of passionate sex among three human beings created to sell a watch. I wonder how many of the very religious with a zero tolerance for this kind of advertising feel it is not inconsistant for them to have just one TV in the household (for the parents, of course) or one in each room. The very presence of an unsupervised TV and/or PC in a Christian home where children are being raised is inconsistent with a strategy to keep the world from neutralizing a religious lifestyle. This is the inconsistency that makes a lie out of their pious expressions of the role of FAITH in their lives. Even in the Bible belt Desperate Housewives has the Evangelicals and pro-life Catholics superglued to their high definition screens every Sunday night. Oh, and then there are all those free re-runs they can now catch on the internet so as not lose track of the story line. The kids get their cellphones that allow them to watch YouTube videos of their favorite x-rated rappers and then they can text on every subject they would not bring up in the presence of their Sarah Palin cloned parents. Hypocrisy is the biggest club in this country and it's membership easily exceeds that of every church in the nation! It's too bad that the old strategies of discrimination, bigotry, repression, denial and intolerance do nothing to reduce the amount of unplanned pregnancies among the children of the nominal to very religious of God fearing Americans.

This commercial should not be on air. It had nothing to do with a watch. Its just another reason for people to push the envelope. I have a 10 year old daughter and I don't appreciate her being exposed to watching a three some during the day time. She doesn't need to know about such things. It's just ridiculous what we let be on TV nowadays.

I am a mother of young of 3 teen daughters. I understand t.v should be a privilege so when we are watching it we should not have to monitor friggen comercials! This commercial has nothing to do with watches. Not only that the actors look like teens them selfs ! Sex sells yes but COME ON! With the disease out there this is giving the wrong messege. Do you honestly think that they are thinking about using a condom!!! give me a break!!!!!!!

i think this advert is superb, its classy, sexy, heavily stylised, i love that it looks classic yet modern, the yellow dress works really well and the men are probably gay anyway, you people who are complaining it objectifies women, but surely it objectifies men too yet i see no complaints about that, hypocrites. Its a beautiful and memorable advert and the Sparks song is just so timeless. Love it. Feminists need to grow up.
