Carine Roitfeld's replacement at Vogue Paris - new editor Emmanuelle Alt - is expected to keep much of the directional magazine the same when she takes over the masthead. After all, she worked alongside Roitfeld as the magazine's fashion director for a decade. That said, Fabien Baron (Vogue Paris' creative director until just two years ago), believes the publication will become more accessible to the average fashion reader under Alt's direction. "She's more commercial than Carine - in a good way," Baron said. "She's looser, more connected to the street."
Baron said choosing Alt was the logical choice for new leadership, as she has a solid list of top industry connections and the right fashion heritage, but when asked whether she's the right choice for the job, Baron only commented, "That's the question that remains."
