Swarovski for Disney
Last Saturday, The Fash Pack was lucky enough to be amongst a select group - including Jefferson Hack, Derek Blasberg and Catherine Ostler, editor of Tatler - to be invited to the first-ever screening of the innovative Tim Burton's Disney film, 'Alice in Wonderland'. After having a preview of the designer collaborations involved in the project, the film was introduced by Alice Temperley who has collaborated with Disney on the film.
The movie, which is set to have its UK premiere tonight and will be in cinemas on March 5th, took us on a fantasy 3D adventure. The eccentric characters, played by Johnny Depp (The Mad Hatter), Mia Wasikoska (Alice), Helena Bonham Carter (Red Queen) and Anne Hathaway (White Queen), added a source of inspiration for a string of designer collaborations.
Disney joined forces with Stella McCartney, Urban Decay, OPI, Tom Binns and Swarovski to create special pieces based on the film.

Swarovski created a special collection to capture the spirit of each character. The signature piece, the 'Sparrow' pendant inspired by the pendant Alice (Mia Wasikowska) wears in the film, is comprised of beautiful gold-plated links and a smoked topaz cut crystal.

Stella McCartney contributed by designing a limited-edition necklace and bracelet made from brass and aluminium light-gold anthracite chain, which is the same she used on her Falabella bag. Both feature charms include rabbits, Mad Hatter's hat, hearts and pearls.
True to form, Tom Binns created two collections of costume jewellery: the first, a collection of high-end pieces in the Tom Binns for Walt Disney signature limited-edition line, and secondly, in the Disney Couture line composed of 35 pieces.
Also inspired by the film was OPI, who created four limited-edition nail varnishes. The colours include 'Absolutely Alice', 'Thanks so Muchness', 'Off with Her Red' and 'Mad as a Hatter'.
The Swarovski collection is available in Swarovski stores nationwide with prices ranging from £55-£235. The Stella McCartney pieces are available in the brand's stores nationwide, and the necklace is priced at £255 and the bracelet, £235. The prices for Tom Binns for Disney range from £370-£650, while the Disney Couture line ranges from £30-£210. The OPI nail varnishes are priced at £9.95.
