September 10 is the next Fashion's Night Out, and it turns out Karl Lagerfeld will be in New York that day - to receive an award. The Fashion Institute of Technology's Couture Council of the Museum will throw a benefit luncheon and honour the Kaiser with a Fashion Visionary Award. Museum director Valerie Steele said he was chosen because "he is not just incredibly respected within the fashion world, but also known to everybody and instantly recognizable."

A luncheon wouldn't interfere with Lagerfeld's evening plans, so there's hope that Anna Wintour could draw him into the festivities for Fashion's Night Out. Cross your fingers, New Yorkers.
