Tadashi Shoji took inspiration from Italian Renaissance frescoes, and more specifically the work of Botticelli for his latest presentation at New York Fashion Week. How did that translate? A collection of icy pastel gowns with more ruffles and florettes that we're used to seeing from such a modernist.
Guests including Aisha Tyler checked out Shoji's Spring '11 collection at Lincoln Center and were met with a mixture of frilly cocktail frocks (we liked the lavender) and sleek, full-length siren gowns ideal for the red carpet. The designer's charming, romantic will be available next season just in time for his third store to open in Beijing.
