Adding yet another magazine to their expansive umbrella, it was revealed on Wednesday that W magazine is to move from the Fairchild Fashion Group to publishing giant Condé Nast - and more excitingly, that the magazine will finally get an editor-in-chief. On Friday, WWD revealed that it would be Thomas J. Wallace, editorial director of Condé Nast, who would pick the appointed editor, and with that listed some possible candidates for the title.
The list contained Stefano Tonchi of The New York Times T magazine, New York magazine's Adam Moss, former editor of Men's Vogue Jay Fielden, and surprisingly Carine Roitfeld of French Vogue and Katie Grand of Love magazine. Annoyingly none of the listed candidates were available to comment, however it is thought that Wallace and his team will act fast at Condé Nast - and it is even thought to be believed that W will move from its current home at 750 Third Avenue, to 1166 Avenue of the Americas, joining the digital likes of Style.com, Epicurious.com and Brides.com. We wonder whether this move to a digital neighbourhood will be anything to do with the new direction the magazine may take? Watch this space.
