Quote Me: Karl Lagerfeld, "Unbelievable Narcissist"

He takes photos of himself at every photo shoot and puts them everywhere. He surrounds himself with a kind of royal court, nobody disagrees with him.

Ex-Lagerfeld assistant Arnaud Maillard's tell-all book, Merci Karl!, is full of tidbits

POP's First Post-Katie Move

Dasha Zhukova officially presents POP magazine's relaunch in September, but we now have an inkling of what things will be like post-Katie Grand. ThePOP.com features an updated logo by Scott King (former i-D art director), a "manifesto of global change", and an option to sign up for email updates before the site's full launch this summer.

All we can say is that it's going to be hard to top a magazine that can produce something like this. We'll be watching.

Marios Schwab Moving to Halston

Marios Schwab has some packing to do. The Central St Martins grad - and Brit-designer favourite - has been picked to take over the flailing Halston label, according to WWD.

Schwab's first runway collection for Halston will be autumn/winter 2010, which would mean his first Big Apple fashion-week show will be next February. With the critical acclaim of his last private-collection show in London, we're guessing he'll bring some insight and much-needed positive attention to the brand. The designer is keen to keep his own line, so the (potential) revival of one brand won't mean another stops dead.

Quote Me: Paulina Thinks Tyra Banks Is a Diva

“I must admit I was having a little bit of an issue with Tyra being late for every judging,” she told Billy [Bush]. “It’s six hours later and I feel like I am being told my time is not as valuable as hers. They pointed out that I should shut up and be grateful for the job and that Tyra is really busy.”

American Apparel Giving Woody Allen $5mil

Put an image of Woody Allen as a Hasidic Jew on a clothing store's billboards, and he will get $5 million from you. American Apparel and CEO Dov Charney are learning an expensive lesson as a lawsuit with the film director draws to a close.

Allen originally sued American Apparel for $10 million for using an image from 'Annie Hall' without his permission, but as the bespectacled gent points out: "Five million dollars is enough to discourage American Apparel or any one else from ever trying such a thing again."

It's Mag-nificent. Get It?

The corner of my studio flat is full of new and old magazines, with the obvious choice (ELLE, both UK and US) mixed with Zink, Adam & Eve, i-D, you name it. The mags used to be in front of my nightstand, within easy reach of my bed, until the pile got so big I couldn't open even my top drawer.

Naturally, I was amused to find Premiere Issues, an archive of hundreds of first-issue covers, many with letters from the editor. The site soon should have full-issue scans, according to Fashionista, which would make it much easier to see what was up with Drew Barrymore during Jane's debut year or reminisce about life with the newlyweds of newlyweds, Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, on Teen Vogue. Get to scanning, Premiere Issues.

First Look: Agyness Deyn Fronts Uniqlo Campaign

We haven't seen much of Agy in the past few months, but the British model has been chosen as the face of Uniqlo's new summer sports range, which is set to hit stores on June 1.

'Agyness reflects a fresh, youthful and vibrant side of life, which was perfect for the campaign,' says head of press and marketing Amy Howarth, exclusively to Grazia.
