Are You Sold On This Season's Peplum Trend?

Just when we thought that pyjama dressing was the only unlikely trend of the season, you can add peplum to that list too. The silhouette isn't something new but for some reason or other, many women avoid it like the plague but this season things have changed. The style has made a serious comeback and everyone seems to being embracing it.

Everyone from Jason Wu and Giambattista Valli to Alexander McQueen and Givenchy paid homage to the style back in September and it's not hard to understand why. As someone that has suffered with finding clothes to fit around my typically South African pear shape, the waist skimming effect is perfect. As Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian show, it accentuates a tiny waist whilst skimming your hips and celebrating curves. Even for those that are more straightly shaped, peplums help create the illusion of curves like it did for Emma Watson and Emma Stone recently.

When Michelle Williams sported that beautiful statement red Louis Vuitton peplum gown it became clear that everyone was converted and unsurprisingly, the high street has picked up on it too. Not all are good but  Zara has created some great styles that are sculptural and structured without the fuss that made many people avoid them in the first place.

Are you sold?

Rate or Slate: Emma Watson Wore Miu Miu

Emma Watson has had quite the style transformation of late and just like her recent outfit choices, this look that she wore to attend the 'Stuck by Lightning' premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival left me feeling split. While there's nothing wrong with the head-to-toe Miu Miu look, there's also nothing that wows me about it either.

What do you think of her look?

Emma Watson's Lancome Ad Revealed

Emma Watson was the belle of the ball as band, Puggy, provided the entertainment at a lavish party thrown by Lancome at Paris' Pavilion Gabriel.  It was Watson's first official outing as the new face of the brand's Treson line - 3 months after the news broke.

The guestlist included everyone from Alber Elbaz to Mario Testino who shot the actress for her Burberry campaigns as well as for the Watson's Treson Midnight Rose print campaign - they will also be working together again on a US Vogue cover due out in July. “The great thing about Emma is that she’s a chameleon; she can communicate anything you ask,” Testino revealed.

Watson, wearing a Black and white Azzaro dress, explained that "Being a Lancôme ambassadress today is an immense pleasure and a great honour. For me, Lancôme is an authentic brand. It reflects elegance, class and style.”

Emma Watson Launched A Capsule Collection With Alberta Ferretti

Alberta Ferretti snagged Emma Watson to help roll out a green-focused, organic capsule collection, which eco-friendly fashion-lovers will be pleased to know goes on sale today. Keeping with the brand's signature femininity, the range offers accessible, wearable pieces like sundresses, a maxi skirt, a basic white shirt and denim shorts. (Our favourite is a black-lace embroidered dress in organic cotton poplin.) Lace embroidery plays throughout the line, which will be sold exclusively online through Alberta Ferretti's website. Watson has arranged to donate a portion of the range's profits to People Tree, the fair-trade fashion retailer with whom she's previously partnered.
