One thing that most people wouldn’t believe about me is that I’m incredibly shy, and I don’t think I’ve ever allowed people in that close. So the fashion side of me is the surface side, really. It’s also taken a bit of coming to terms with the fact that I do spend so much of my life working in the material world. But as long as you keep it in perspective and don’t take it too seriously, I think fashion is a great thing that adds quality to our lives. It doesn’t mean that a beautiful pair of shoes isn’t still beautiful. But if you lose them, big deal, because they don’t really mean anything other than to be able to say, 'Wow, look at my feet. Aren’t they pretty?'
It was party time for the likes of Carine Roitfeld, Sidney Toledane and Virginie Ledoyen as John Galliano arrived fashionably late to his timepiece launch party, welcomed by a warm reception of cheers and applause. Galliano revealed that the collection - launched at his Paris flagship store - had been inspired by old pocket watches that he had collected from around the world, whilst joking that he is 'always on time, like the Queen of England'.

After Ford and his business partner - ex-creative director of both YSL and Gucci - Domenico de Sole had been looking for finance, reportedly of around $50 million, it has finally been confirmed that there is to be a Tom Ford Womenswear collection.
Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is fast making a serious name for herself as a fashionista to be reckoned with. Despite having graced several 'best-dressed' lists in recent months, it still comes as a surprise that the flame-haired actress come singer is set to grace the cover of Vogue.
Currently starring in the remake of the '90s hit show Melrose Place, Ashlee clearly had no problems with taking time out to strike a pose for the magazine. Photographed arriving at the Hilton in Beverly Hills for the shoot, the 25 year old looked relaxed and showed off an enviously healthy glow.
After much criticism for their cover with Blake Lively, it will be interesting to see how their latest cover girl will be received.
Ridley Scott, the renowned director who has brought us films such as Gladiator, Thelma and Louise, American Gangster, and Hannibal, amongst others, is set to cast Angelina Jolie in his upcoming movie, Gucci. The film will depict the intrigue and drama of the high-fashion world that was the Gucci dynasty in the 70s and 80s when the family's annual sales amounted to around $500million. Although the script is still being written, Scott intends on portraying the power struggle that ravaged the family until Maurizio, the grandson of the founder Guccio Gucci, came out on top.
