Forget the credit crunch, women have been waiting to purchace the Vivienne Westwood wedding dress that Sarah Jessica parker wore as Carrie Bradshaw in the first 'Sex and the City' movie.
The dress has completely sold out on Net-a-Porter. Anyone wanting to bag the dress will have to join the forever-growing waiting list.
Whoever said $9,875 was too much for an outfit that you will only wear once was clearly mistaken.
It's a bad time right now for Vera Wang. After having to make cutbacks and reductions earlier this year, today it was revealed that Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue have dropped Wang's lower priced line, Vera Wang Lavender Label, this spring.
Neiman Marcus have also reported a drop of sales from the brand, which has resulted in them pulling the label from more than 20 of their locations. They have also pulled out from making any orders for the Fall '09 collection.
Have you noticed that we've been seeing a lot more of Julia Restoin-Roitfeld over the past year? The daughter of Carine Roitfeld, editor-in-chief of French Vogue, has been seen in every magazine from Harper's Bazaar UK to the ad campaign of Mango.
If that wasn't enough, The Times have recently spoken to her about everything from her move to America six years ago to her mother's influence on her.
On moving to America: “I never felt like I fitted in, but I used to go to summer camps in the US and felt much more at home there; the lifestyle and the fashion were more fun, cooler and more open-minded.
It's no secret that Jay Manuel has silver hair. It's hardly something you can miss. When you say silver hair, it instantly brings back disturbing images of Sisqo in the 'Thong Song' music video but luckily for Mr Jay, he pulls the look off well.
Ever wondered what made him try the daring look?
"I actually did it on a dare from Tyra,” he explained to The Cut. “When we were shooting season one of Top Model, we were talking one night while Flash Gordon was on. I saw his white hair and said, ‘I would love to do my hair that color.’ And she goes, ‘Oh, you should do it right now.’ I said, ‘No, we’re in the middle of taping the show, how are we going to explain this? I promise you the day after we wrap I’ll do it.’ So a week later, after we wrapped the show, I colored my hair. I saw Tyra in L.A. and she said, ‘Ya did it, all right, now that’s your trademark.’”

"This is the best thing to wear for today, you understand. And you can always take off the skirt and use it as a cape."
Do I have a new obsession to top Mad Men? HBO's film Grey Gardens, premiering 18 April, has some of the best costume design of the season.
Drew Barrymore stars as 'Little Edie' Bouvier Beale, Jackie Kennedy's cousin and an eccentric, blueblooded New Yorker. Her look took five hours of makeup, wig work and prosthetics a day, not to mention dialect coaching to get the Long Island speak down. Jessica Lange co-stars as 'Big Edie' in the film, made by first-time director Michael Sucsy.
Grey Gardens started as an obscure 1975 documentary, which went on to become a cult classic and spawn a Broadway musical. With any luck, this version will do as well or better.
Japan Fashion Week in Tokyo is confirming some trends we've already seen and, as usual, adding its own twist. Sci-fi, geometric and braced-for-the-depression lady are all over the runways, but we've never seen layers like Shida Tasuya's or prints like those at Sachio Kawasaki. What are your thoughts?
A masked ball...over cocktails at New York's Bowery Hotel? The economy is definitely changing everything, but that doesn't mean the fashion crowd will go any less lavish. Save Venice's annual masquerade, designed to raise money to restore art and architecture in Italy's city on water, drew out plenty of tiny society types in large dresses. Fashion sponsor Cho Cheng made sure there was plenty of lace and luxury to go around. It's almost enough to make me change out of my oversized t-shirt and flats.
