Nanette Lepore Fights For Fashion Bigwigs To Join Fashion Industry Revival

Fashion devotees from across the industry, including New York City-based designer, Nanette Lepore, and Representative Diane Watson, gathered last Friday to talk about the state of the fashion industry and show their support for the creation of a “Fashion Caucus” in Congress. “This caucus isn’t about the image of fashion, it’s about the business of fashion,” said Christine Brooks-Cropper, GWFCC President.

“The fashion district is facing extinction, and small factories are being lost to developers,” said Lepore, who plans for a “Save the Fashion District” rally to be held at the bronze garment-worker statue in October.

Supermodels At Dolce & Gabbana Anthology Launch

Iconic threesome, Eva Herzigova, Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell – the supermodels that Testino recently shot nude for Dolce & Gabbana’s Anthology print campaigns – were spotted at Milan Fashion Week along with designer friends Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana last Friday evening helping promote the scents they each front.

According to Vogue.com, Naomi Campbell said: "I'm overwhelmed, this is amazing," as the semi-matching girls, all wearing white tanks, black satin blazers and denim, were welcomed by a crowd of nearly 3,000 people as they turned up at the Rinascente department store to sign autographs and pose for pictures.

Annie Leibowitz And Damien Hirst Design For Louis Vuitton

Has Annie Leibowitz and Damien Hirst designed the ultimate piece of Louis Vuitton luggage? We think so. LV have teamed up with the two to design a bespoke item of luggage.

The project will see the pieces auctioned at Sotherby's on the 17th November to mark the 150th anniversary of the Red Cross. Unlike other labels who in the past, enlisted the design skills of celebrities to create 'it' bags in aid of charity, LV have allowed the pair to have complete freedom in their interpretation of 'luggage' and as such, both have chosen to offer designs tailored to suit their respective professions. Leibowitz opted for a back pack specially designed to fit camera equipment, finished off with vermilion couloured lining. Hirst on the other hand, created an ominous looking black trunk complete with multiple drawers and blue micro-fibre lining to transport his 'surgical' equipment. Is it just us or has travelling in style never been more appealing?

Shop Oxford Street From Your Sofa This Christmas

Ever wandered what it would be like to see what was on offer on the high street at Christmas time without having to fight your way through hoards of people all with the same idea as yours? Well you needn't wander anymore as this Christmas you will be able to peruse the festive offerings on the high-street from the comfort of your sofa before deciding whether or not it is worth the mission.

Thanks to the Near West End Company, who have come up with a virtual high-street which will show the wares of shops all over the West End including Oxford Street, Regent Street, Bond Street and Leicester Square. You'll be able to shop around for pricing before venturing out. With stores such as Liberty, M&S, John Lewis and American Apparel confirmed to have signed up to the project it looks like this could be the first stress free Christmas.

New Look's Launches Its New 'Idol' Line

High street giant New Look has always sought to offer affordable, forward thinking and on-trend pieces. Having brought us a number of celebrity collaborations with the likes of  Fearne Cotton, Alexa Chung and Lily Allen, the retailer is often way ahead of its high-street counterparts.

This week New Look launched their 'Idol' range which is a collection completely dedicated to the rock-chick in you. Paying homage to Debbie Harry, from whom the design team sought inspiration, the collection features edgy and directional garments and accessories. Jumpsuits, embellished boyfriend blazers, printed and bold coloured dresses, cuffs, chain details and spiked heels are the focal points of the collection which has been designed with the 'style-savvy fashionistas' in mind.
