Anna Dello Russo Wanted Her Creative Voice To Be Heard

Anna Dello Russo's stardom continues to grow, but many have been left questionning why it's taken so long for Vogue Japan's fashion director to get the recognition she deserves. In an recent interview, she revealed that despite her love of the magazine, it's prevented her for expressing herself creatively.

She explained: "I didn’t come out and talk about my brand, I talked about my freedom. At that time, I was thinking about my own expression, because of course I love Japanese Vogue, but in any case, I was thinking to express myself. I thought, I should really jump in this world and have a voice to really express myself. With magazines, you don’t really express yourself; you express a corporate vision, you express the vision of Condé Nast. It’s not really your point of view. You can’t say in the magazine what you really like, it’s all a very political vision. So I thought, maybe I should spend some time and energy to finally have my little voice, and now it’s happening."

Miniskirts And Low-Cut Tops Banned In Italian Town

Luckily for the people of Italian town Castellammare di Stabia, located just south of Naples, designers have been channeling lower hemlines for the past few seasons and have moved away from the short styles that were dominating runways. This week the town's mayor, Luigi Bobbio, has come under fire for banning short skirts and low-cut tops, giving the police the power to fine offenders €300 for noncompliance.

But just how short is short? According to Bobbio, the police will only take action against women wearing skirts that don't adequately cover their underwear. While the move was in aid of boosting the decorum of the town, the new rules have angered residents with many labelling the mayor as a "chauvinist."

What do you think?

Kanye West Is Over His Model Phase

A few weeks ago someone noticed that Kanye West was only following models - all of which he talks about in a new song. But the move was shortlived. "Its over. I'm no longer following @Kanyewest and he no longer follows me," Coco Rocha joked on Twitter. "We parted on amicable terms. Thats my statement at this time. ;)"

Rate or Slate: Julianne Moore Tries Something A Bit Different

Julianne Moore isn't one that you would normally associate with taking a fashion risk but she did just that this week at the premiere of 'The Kids Are Alright'. The actress stepped on in the two-tone asymmetric Lanvin dress and simple black open toe sandals. The look definitely split opinions but what do you think?

Vogue Russia Removed One Of Alessandra Ambrosio's Legs

Image copyright Vogue Russia, via Jezebel

We all know magazines go through rounds of Photoshopping - sometimes heftier than others - but we usually don't get a situation like this. In the September issue of Vogue Russia, Alessandra Ambrosio is looking perfectly trendy in her camel and khaki. That said, she's probably wondering what happened to her left leg, which has disappeared from the knee down. Maybe that's what Coco Rocha is contemplating in the picture.

Quote Me: Crystal Renn On Being Cast By Karl Lagerfeld For Chanel

Inside, you die. No, I’m kidding. But what a great honor. I mean, when I was a child, 14 years old, looking at fashion, what do you know? You know Chanel. That is the first one. And I remember being a young model, 16 years old, going into my agency the first day, “When am I going to see Chanel? They’re in Paris? Why am I not in Paris?” Every day, I was asking about this. And it took me getting healthy and getting comfortable in myself seven years later and I get Chanel. Irony? I think so.
