Eighty students were left disappointed at Central St Martins yesterday, when a panel of industry experts selected the top 40 graduates to show their collections for the university's press show next Tuesday. In total, the 125 graduates from St Martins' programs for women's wear, menswear, knit, print and fashion design and marketing showed work to a jury, and even the collections that didn't make the cut were anything but ordinary.
Fashionista has shots from the designers who didn't quite make the cut - and we have to say, there are some great pieces there. Judges looked for attractive, succinct collections with unique vision to make their call. Willie Walters, fashion BA course director, explains it this way: “People come to us for creative idea generators, not someone who can design a great high street collection. They can get that from another college.”

Kim Cattrall wore this strapless black dress today at the UK premiere of 'Sex And The City 2' at London's Leicester Square.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is set to have her acting debut in the third 'Transformers' movie. Whiteley was brought on board by director Michael Bay after Megan Fox due to rows about her weight. We can't help but worry that this is going to be nothing more than the usual model-turned-actress move but since Fox's role was more about posing than acting, Whiteley will surely do well.
I actually don't shop very much. I have a tendency to rotate a few pairs of ripped jeans and an old cashmere sweater.

Jennifer Lopez is a fan of draping and an even bigger fan of Lanvin it seems. The actress wore the brand to the NEON Charity Gala in Moscow.

Last year we spoke about rumours of Jean Paul Gaultier's departure from Hermès. If recent reports are anything to go by, the split is now official. According to WWD the designer will leave after the brand's spring/summer 2011 show and the company's artistic director for womenswear, Christophe Lemaire will take his place.

Since his tragic death, Lee Alexander McQueen has been remembered as one of the most talented fashion designers of this generation. To celebrate his legacy, 'Sex and the City' star Sarah Jessica Parker has been chosen to present the prestigious CFDA Board of Directors' Special Tribute Award to the late McQueen on June 7. Parker had previously attended the Costume Institute Gala as the designer's partner in 2003, where they were sporting matching tartan outfits.
Following his death in February Parker said, "He was talented well beyond his years and the seriousness and unrivalled talent which he applied to his work is in bountiful display year after year and collection after collection. Every single inspired, original, lofty, whimsical, stunning, brilliant and jaw-dropping detail was Alexander McQueen."

Thats right; ANTM's next winner is set for Italiano stardom with Vogue Italia being its newest sponsors for the upcoming fifteenth season. Prizes including a Vogue cover and two fashion spreads will certainly call for more catfights on the catwalk, but then again thats what we love to watch! On forming these partnerships, Banks said:
I was so excited when Franca Sozzani, Editor-in-Chief of Italian Vogue, reached out to me at the end of last year to be a permanent contributor on the recently launched vogue.it (Italian Vogue’s new website) - I was (and AM!) so honored and excited to be working so closely with such an iconic brand. Franca and I really hit it off; we really connected on a personal level, but even more so as we exchanged visions for the future of our brands. I knew instantly that we were destined to partner together in another BIG way; I even told Franca I’d be in touch as soon as I figured out what that was - OH, and I wasn’t kidding. Here’s ANTM with an Italian Vogue cover, and not one, but TWO in-book fashion spreads for our winner."
