No, we're not talking about another Madonna adoption, the Material Girl star acquired a new son on the set of the latest Dolce & Gabbana campaign, 17-year old Max Schneider. The young model - who also classes himself as a multitasking actor-singer-dancer, and is only a senior at a performing arts school - assists Madonna with her grocery bags while she, as The Cut puts it, "holds her breasts in place". From Schneider's accounts of the Fall campaign, Madonna took well to her adopted offspring, too.
"It was very comfortable. She walked in the room, and I'm a big Madonna fan so I was expecting it to be nervewracking but she walked in and it was totally fine," he gushed. "I felt like her son for the day, I was supposed to be her son in the ad campaign, actually. She was just so nice to me, it wasn't like I was some random kid, she really treated me with respect and I truly respected her for that. She's such a superstar but she treats you as though you're on the same level. It was really incredible and she's just a very nice, sweet person. I was pleasantly surprised."

Yves Saint Laurent has announced that Melanie Thierry will be the face of its new fragrance Belle D'Opium coming out in October.
Having been spotted countless times at The Cannes Film Festival in May, the model kept a low profile amongst the many high profile celebs that were floating around. Last week at the launch party of the new fragrance Alexa Chung sported a leather ensemble that showed her skinny frame as skinnier than ever. Whitney Port, the much loved designer from 'The City' looked fabulous in a bodycon dress too but it was Thierry who stole the show in a sexy YSL black number.
The French actress-turned-model who most certainly has that "Je ne sais quoi" about her, wasn't born when the Opium fragrance first launched in 1977. However, she will star in the new ad campaign for the scent and on a new site called What is Your Opium?, which will be updated daily with videos and 'fun facts' about the fragrance. We can't wait to see the campaign and how Thierry will be portrayed when under the YSL spotlight.

Steven Klein's move to film by directing Lady Gaga's 'Alejandro' music video was met with a lot of criticism (unfounded I think) but it looks like his move has encouraged other photographers to take the plunge too.
Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, who were are currently celebrating their the 25th anniversary of their partnership, told Nowness that we can definitely expect the duo to foray into film. "We will hopefully have launched five fragrances based on our images and directed a few exciting movies,"they said. "Or we could be doing yoga, full time, on a mountain in India." Ryan McGinley is also jumping ship. Recently he told The Cut that he's "gearing up towards [a feature film], I'm not there yet. I'm not a writer, but I would write something with somebody. I've been looking at a lot of scripts, but nothing has popped out to me."

Ciara; Estelle
Ciara went strong and powerful in this gold and black belted mini dress and boots to the BET awards last night, while Estelle went the opposite direction is this feminine peach dress with off-white booties.

It's only a couple of months until the coveted September issues of our favourite publications hit magazine stalls worldwide, and everyone knows that one of the most important features of the most important issue is the question of who will become the cover girl. The fall issue is without a doubt the biggest in the fashion calendar, and so The Cut have gathered information from the papers, online fashion forums and secretive sources to bring us an insight into the faces of both the August, and September issues.
If the rumoured cover girls are correct, Halle Berry landing Vogue's September issue will reportedly mark the first black woman to grace the cover since Naomi Campbell back in 1989, according to Fashionista. See the list of expected cover girls below.

Victoria Beckham stepped out in the South of France, where she's waiting for husband David Beckham to arrive from South Africa tomorrow, sporting hair extensions. We definitely prefer her shorter look but you might disagree.

It's a sad time in the model world. Last week we sadly announced the suspected suicide of Tom Nicon and as discussed, the last year has seen the death of Daul Kim and the attempted suicide of Noémie Lenoir. Unfortunately, news broke on Friday of another death in the model world. Bollywood actress and Indian model Viveka Babajee allegedly hanged herself from a fan on the ceiling in her apartment. According to local newspapers, the 37 year-old suffered from severe depression.
As Jezebel's contributor Jenna Sauers said in an article last month, "Suicidal models are fashion's worst trend". All we can do now is hope that the trend does not continue.
