The usual glamazons that Donatella Versace sends down her runway were a little tougher for Spring. Sure, the sensuality was still in play. But this time around, the Versace collection (mostly) skipped the flowing gowns in favour of knee-length and midi skirts, for an overall take-charge silhouette.
A colour palette of bright red and electric blue, mixed with nude, white and black, created a summery vibe on the runway. A few shorter looks in bright stripes took on an easy air, and the designer also revived the use of the Greek key design, something of a signature for the house. Versace's collection stands in stark contrast to many of the floor-sweeping, garden-inspired designs we've been seeing elsewhere. But we don't think it's any less romantic.
