It was business as usual at Caroline Charles today, as she presented a collection that will no doubt be hit amongst her loyal customers of mature women. Backstage after the show she told me that this collection was all about being optimistic after the difficult past few years as a result of the global economy. Models walked down the runway to an upbeat, playful soundtrack wearing bright shades like a hot pink on a two piece skirt suit and gingham prints in both red and black styles.
Although the collection did nod to the current trend for all things colour, Charles also offered a selection of monochromatic pieces like over the knee length pencil skirts and white blouses with ruffle detail along the neckline. When she wasn't showing her usual tailored jackets and skirts, the designer also played with pyjama-like styles to, which is something we also saw in New York.
