Proenza Schouler Continue To Deliver Clothes That We Want To Wear

2012 is definitely Proenza Schouler's year. Their fall 2012 collection was by far one of the best shows at New York Fashion Week and next month sees the opening of their first store on Madison Avenue, with another Manhattan store in the works and a denim and jewellery line to follow.

Looking at their resort 2013 collection, it's not difficult to understand why they are doing so well. At the unveiling of the collection designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez said that they are committed to creating 'wearable, salable clothes that girls want' and that's exactly what their latest offering is.

Compared to their fall collection, there was nothing particularly new about the resort pieces but that wasn't a problem. The boyfriend jeans, scaled up coats, tweed jackets and leather pieces will undoubtedly go down well with their loyal following because it's the uncomplicated, practical natures of the clothes that make them so desirable. The use of interesting fabrics, which the duo are known for, helped elevate the otherwise simple pieces.

Fancy Buying A Piece From Amanda Brooks' Wardrobe At A Discount?

Anyone that has followed Amanda Brooks over the last few years will know that the former Barneys fashion director has quite the enviable wardrobe. If you're a fan, you could be in with a chance of bagging a piece from her wardrobe because this week she donated a large section of her wardrobe to New York City Opera's Thrift Shop.

The much loved thrift store reportedly received 'thousands and thousands of dollars' worth of Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel and Jil Sander from Brooks, along with 'loads of shoes' she cleared out of her wardrobe in preparation of her big move to Engalnd. All of the proceeds go towards the creation and design of costumes for the New York City Opera's productions.

Chloé Announce Their 60th Anniversary Celebration Plans

Their designs may appeal to a younger customer compared to other luxury brands but Chloé is by no means a young brand. This year sees the french company mark their 60th anniversary and as you would expect, they have a lot in store to mark the occasion.

On September 28 the brand will take over the art space at Palais de Tokyo in Paris to unveil an exhibition curated by Judith Clark to 'translate the unique spirit of the brand', Chloé's chief executive officer Geoffroy de la Bourdonnaye told WWD. Rather than being a retrospective like Louis Vuitton's recent exhibition in the Louvre, this one will be more of a 'collage of ideas', Claire Waight Keller explained, and will feature pieces created by former creative directors like Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney and Phoebe Philo.

Shop Her Look: Beyoncé In Surface To Air

Blazer, €320; Top, 85 and shorts, 140 all at Surface to Air.

Is it me or has Beyoncé completely upped the ante in the style stakes recently? While I've always been a fan of her music, her style hasn't ever particularly appealed to me but that's changed. Like her younger sister Solange, the 30 year-old has really come into her own over the past few years and this outfit is a case in point.

Yesterday the singer was out and about in Paris, where Jay-Z is performing in the French leg of his 'Watch The Throne' tour, wearing this bright yellow shorts suit from Surface to Air. The addition of the Alexander McQueen canvas tiger printed DeManta clutch and Prada flaming wings heels finished off the look perfectly.

Quote Me: Joseph Altuzarra On His His Wonderboy Status

In this weird way it feels like your job. It feels like it’s part of what is it to be a designer now but it’s also really important to get out there. We live in an exceptionally communicative time with the Internet and social media and you have to be part of it. You have to engage in it. Otherwise you’re not being a part of your own time.

Rate or Slate: Jessica Chastain In Carven And Brian Attwood

With the promotional tour for 'Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted' still in full swing that means a lot more Jessica Chastain, which is only a good thing. Her day time appearances are just as good as her red carpet looks and this outfit is a case in point.

Yesterday morning the actress made a guest appearance along with Jada Pinkett-Smith on 'Live! with Kelly' in New York wearing this outfit from the Fall 2012 Carven collection. The suede cut out peplum top with the white colour is a lot edgier than what we're accustomed to with Chastian but along with the satin tailored shorts and simple Brian Attwood nude heels, it really works.

What do you think of her look?

Jessica Chastian Will Front Yves Saint Laurent's New Fragrance Campaign

Jessica Chastian is one of those actresses that is loved as much for her red carpet style as she is for her beauty looks so it was only a matter of time before she landed a big campaign - and now it's here. Yesterday WWD broke the news that the actress has been signed by Yves Saint Laurent to front their upcoming fragrance, Manifesto.

Talking about her appointment Stephen Bezy, international general manager of Yves Saint Laurent Beauté, said that it was her 'subtle strength..., he solar charm, her free mind,' that sealed the deal.
