Gareth Pugh Launches Project on SHOWstudio

Led by British photographer, Nick Knight, fashion broadcasting site, SHOWstudio, is known for its use of experimental interactive projects, films and live performances. And yet again, it fails to disappoint. After broadcasting a Nick Knight fashion shoot live at Somerset House during London Fashion Week, the website has now honed in on Gareth Pugh - Britain’s latest addition to a long tradition of fashion-as-performance-art – and will air live footage of the man in action. Viewers will have a unique opportunity to see the designer at work as he creates an interpretation of one of his S/S 2010 pieces through a webcam that will film every measurement, cut and stitch.

This long-term collaborator to the site, who has received significant acclaim in contemporary fashion circles, yet has struggled to gain commercial value, will be selling his one-off piece in the SHOWstudio SHOP alongside many other designers who will follow suit in the future. Dazed & Confused’s Jefferson Hack To Launch Another Title?

Alongside some of the world's key fashion players, Jefferson Hack - journalist and co-founder of Dazed & Confused - presented at the International Herald Tribune’s Techno Luxury Conference in Berlin this Tuesday, discussing how advances in technology will affect the way the luxury sector does business.

Hack, with agreement from Natalie Massenet of Net-à-Porter, said that editorial and shopping content would fully move online within the next decades, saying that in the future, print media will not disappear, but rather “become souvenirs of the show”. He said that he envisages the future of magazines in portable devices, augmented reality, smart surfaces and digital paper, adding that “in the digital universe, the winners will be those that take risks . . . How do we compete for attention? We don't. We participate. The digital revolution caught quite some of the brands napping.”

To add to that, we’ve now just heard that apparently Hack is launching a product-driven title in February, called Another Love...sound familiar?

News Just In: A Second +J For Uniqlo Collection On The Cards

How we waited for the release of Jil Sander's debut +J collection for Uniqlo. We, along with the rest of the fashion-savvy public were not at all disappointed when it hit the stores on the 1st October.

As expected, the uber sleek collection of men and womenswear designs, sold out in a hot flash so it was only a matter of time before the powers that be at Uniqlo HQ, decided to put out a second collection in time for spring. And if that wasn't enough, Sander will be expanding the collection as a result of the success of the her first offerings, and is currently said to be in New York, already working on the spring campaign.

It’s official: Winter’s here! Blustery winds, rain, uncomfortable freezing winds on your face whilst you’re out commuting - but cosy fires, toasty central heating in your homes, staying inside in the warmth, ahhh lovely. Wrong! Well, yes, lovely and cosy, but it’s all an assault on our skin. The elements outside plus central heating does a fabulous number of drying out our skin.

So we spend a lot of money on a new wardrobe for winter, don’t we? New coat, thermals, scarf and lots of layers to keep us warm during the chilly months. So why, ladies and gentlemen, do we not have the same approach for our skin? I proposition that we do! And with haste! With the holidays coming up and work Christmas dos aplenty, there’s never a better time to spend a little effort and time on our skin to look our very best. And it’s simple: It’s all about moisture.

Could Gemma Ward Be The Face For Frost French?

We recently reported that Gemma Ward was back (in business), having been off the radar for a couple of years, during which time she sported a more relaxed and healthy, fuller figure, than before she took time off. Frost French, the label founded by Sadie Frost and Jemima French, has now expressed their desire to have Ms Ward as their new poster girl. The only catch is that they want a 'relaxed', real girl to star in the ad campaign, they want Ms Ward in her 'real girl' mode as opposed to model mode.

Stella McCartney For GapKids Spring Collection Confirmed

Long gone are the days when uber trendy clothes for children were hard to come by, so parents need not worry. It has been confirmed that Stella McCartney will return to create a Spring collection for GapKids, following her successful Autumn line, which hit stores earlier this month. Despite just signing for one season, the Spring line will launch in March. We have our fingers crossed that it'll be just as cute as the first collection, and with some miniature Stella pieces in the Autumn serving, that we might be able to fit in them too.

Oh, Heidi Klum, you are full of surprises. Just five weeks after giving birth to your fourth child, there you are walking the runway at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show - in a decked-out dress rather than lingerie alone, granted, but come on. With even Jay-Z at the show's taping Thursday night, there was pressure. Said the Klum: "When you have a baby, you can't really know if in five weeks' time you're like everyone else over here."

By over here, the VS Angel and 'Project Runway' host meant the pack of other winged top models, including show opener Alessandra Ambrosio, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Chanel Iman, Liu Wen, Anja Rubik and more. The sci-fi influence at this year's show was clear, with neon and intergalactic armour taking the spotlight.

Entertainment for the evening was provided by the Black Eyed Peas, and Fergie herself strode across the stage in a revealing corset. Also at the event? Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Michelle Trachtenberg and Keri Hilson: enough to prove to anyone that this year's fashion show was a serious spectacle.

Looking for a new direction in life? So is Claudia Schiffer. That's why she's making plans to launch her own fashion line, which could include handbags and cashmere pieces. The 39-year-old model told guests at a luxury conference in Berlin this week that she's looking for investors to support her venture, which she believes would be "timeless and classic, with a fashion sensibility".

But what does this mean for Schiffer's modelling career? Don't worry: She's not throwing the past two decades out the window. With recent spots for Salvatore Ferragamo, Yves Saint Laurent and Alberta Ferretti - plus the new Chanel campaign - we can only imagine that the model will keep building her portfolio both wearing great pieces and making them.
