Rate or Slate: LiLo Says Midriff Baring Is Totally Cool
The past few weeks have been hard for Lilo, especially after it was announced that she was one of the reasons behind Esteban Cortazar's recent departure from Ungaro.
The stress seemed to take its toll on the actress when she attended the AXE Lounge in Southampton this weekend. Lohan wore this cropped top with black skinny jeans and Alexander Wang booties.

Rate or Slate: Ciara Gives Harem Trousers a Go
Last week, Ciara attended the 2009 Smile Event presented by Operation Smile at Cipriani in this interesting harem outfit. I don't usually mind a harem but I'm not keen on this. This is an outfit that you either love or are left sitting thinking that the low-slung trouser style was best left in the '80s.

Street Style: Flash of 80s

You would think being an 80s baby would cause a strong feeling of nostalgia for 80s fashion. Well not it my case. Until recently I have sworn away from anything Lycra, neon or anything that resembles acid wash or ripped jeans.
This look has me convinced. The ripped Balmain-like jeans work really well styled down with a basic, plain tee and waistcoat.

Future is Not Bright and It's Not 80's
It looks like I am not the only one concerned about the 80's comeback this season.
Washington Post fashion critic, Robin Givhan had the following to say about the comeback:
"I think that it’s just a lack of imagination whenever so many people latch on to something like that," she said. "And I think I would feel differently if I thought it was sort of lovingly being done well and with a certain panache. But I don’t think the world needs MC Hammer pants ever, ever again. Michael Jackson is back and he wants his clothes." Her own eighties wardrobe still scares her. "I mean, acid-wash jeans, hello? Hasn’t everyone had some horrible run in with acid-wash jeans?"

Trend Report: 80s

One of the least welcomed trends this season was the 80s. If highlighter pen neon is your thing, then you’ll be happy. Designers rebelled against the credit crunch this season, opting for bright colours and 80s silhouettes, as opposed to a black heavy pessimistic outlook that was initially expected.
