French-born Leslie Caron proved the epitomy of graceful in the 1951 film 'An American in Paris' - thanks, no doubt, to Orry-Kelly's costume design. Screen Style: Elizabeth Taylor In 'Cleopatra'

Elizabeth Taylor became the highest-paid movie star to date when she accepted $1 million to play the title role in 'Cleopatra'. The 1963 film starred her as the legendary Egyptian queen, and Taylor's future husband, Richard Burton, as Marc Antony. The two created a movie magazine scandal (like tabloid exploits today) when they started dating, despite both being married to other people.

But on to fashion. Prolific costume designer Renie won an Oscar for her work on the film, and she was nominated for another four Academy Awards. Renie got her start in the industry by designing theatre sets and then being a sketch artist for Paramount. We guess being able to do it all helps!
