I must admit. I am amongst the many journalists that haven't always been so favourable about Peaches Geldof's fashion choices in the past but since giving birth, her outfits seem to have changed and in a good way.
The Alberta Ferretti demi-couture gown that she wore last night to attend the London premiere of 'The Dark Knight Rises' is a case in point. The dress felt a lot more polished and grown up compared to the Peaches of old and really worked on her.
All eyes may have been on the red carpet at Cannes over the weekend but a big event took place in Las Vegas too last night, as it played host to the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.
While the red carpet looks didn't quite match up to what we saw in Cannes, the looks were actually pretty good. Taylor Swift sported a red Elie Saab gown, Julianne Hough looked incredible in a silver Kaufman Franco creation and Miley Cyrus had everyone talking in this Jean Paul Gaultier double breasted mini dress.
Jada Pinkett Smith hasn't been her usual self recently. When she's on, she's on and when she's off, she's really off but today she was back on form.
The actress wore this dress from the S/S12 Alberta Ferretti collection to attend the photo call of 'Madagscar 3 Europe's Most Wanted'. The dress isn't my favourite outfit from Jada but it's definitely a step in the right direction. Hopefully her outfit at the premiere will be even better.
American women shop more according to their needs and tend to plan carefully in advance. They love a well-thought-out purchase and always go for practical pieces, but they still speak the language of fashion ... Italian women, on the other hand, buy on instinct and dress themselves 'for the occasion' ... They do not like to take risks, it is almost as though they fear the dynamic of the game that plays out between themselves and fashion, sometimes resulting in an overly composed look. However, Italian women come from a long tradition of great style.
Macy's have been really busy recently. Over the last year they've produced collections with Karl Lagerfeld and Doo-Ri Chung for their Impulse line and as we reported last month, Alberta Ferretti is their latest collaborator. The collection, which hits stores on April 17, couldn't have come at a better time.
The 30-piece collection features all the pieces you'll need now the weather is warming up. Inspired by her recent trip to the Almafi coast, the line features summer dresses in maxi styles and in block colours. Tops come in feminine lace and florals and as you would expect, Ferrertti has also thrown in a great evening dress in the mix too in the form of a bright orange one-shouldered maxi.
Macy's are on a roll at the moment with their designer collaborations. Last year saw Doo-Ri Chung (whose collection hasn't hit shop floors yet) and Karl Lagerfeld design collections for the store's Impulse department and yesterday Alberta Ferretti was announced as the latest collaborator. The collection will be full of the romantic, feminine pieces that Ferretti is known for and the 30 pieces will include summer party dresses, light knitwear and delicate blouses inspired from the designer's recent trip to the Almafi Coast.
According to WWD, Ferretti's collection will be amongst five designer collaborations set for release at Macy's this year.
This week has been a busy one in Hollywood. Earlier on this week we had the People's Choice Awards and last night was the turn of the Critics Choice Awards.
Outfits on the night that realy stood out came from Charlize Theron in Azzedine Alaia, Michelle Williams in Chanel, Kristen Dunst in Christian Dior, Jessica Chastian in Balenciaga and Shailene Woodley in Calvin Klein. I was really excited to see what Elizabeth Olsen would wear over the next week but her yellow Emilio Pucci dress that she wore to last night's event hasn't got me excited about what is yet to come.
