Keep a lookout for which top designer will be creating Kate Middleton's wedding dress for her nuptials with Prince William (British Vogue reports the odds favouring Amanda Wakeley at 4/1) but now at least we know the date that the biggest wedding of our times will occur. It seems the happy couple will say their vows on April 29, a Friday, at London's Westminster Abbey.
Reports have claimed that the wedding could cost $40 million, including about $200,000 for the dress alone. That doesn't include the estimated $20 million in security costs. But aside from price, Kate and William's biggest worry? Looking too ostentatious in tough economic times at a ceremony that is said to have the likes of Elton John on its guest list.

Some of the worlds top fashion designers are to join forces in creating some spectacular costumes for a pantomime show to do their charitable deed of the year. Dame Vivienne Westwood, the Brit Queen of Fashion will join the likes of Jean Paul Gaultier and Amanda Wakeley to collaborate on the project which is called "Snow White And The Seven Designers."
Tim Gosling, one of the fashion figures behind the event which will raise funds for Dementia UK, said "This year's six performances will be the biggest to date.We have really upped the ante.” The show will take place at the Garrick Theatre London from October 12th to 16th because of the hectic schedule of the designers involved.

"These are investment pieces that stand the test of time," Amanda Wakeley wrote in her show notes, and though the investment-, recession-based focus might be getting quite tiring after all this time, Wakeley did as she promised, and she did it well. The winter coat was in abundance at her AW10 show, coming in soft cocoon shapes and allowing just enough room for plenty of well needed layering underneath. And if there was anyone to look to for great autumn layering so far, it was without a doubt Wakeley.
Body-con grey marl dresses with turtlenecks featured underneath the billowing, softly shaped coats - most of which featured exaggerated flapping lapels and kept detailed with exposed zips. Continuing the mix of texture that's been popping up recently, Wakeley sent a surprisingly oversized fur hood, almost swallowing the head of the model showcasing it, with a fitted grey panelled dress, woolen tights and chunky Camilla Skovgaard heels down the runway, as well as a taupe suede cape-style dress and a muted brown leather mac.

Good for Stephen Jones: the milliner has been named to Queen Elizabeth II's 2009 New Year Honors list, which recognises today's most innovative and influential designers and tastemakers. Accordingly Jones, who held a retrospective at London's Victoria & Albert Museum last year, has been named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire, or OBE. "Around the world, millinery is seen as a uniquely British art and I am proud to be part of that tradition," Jones said.
Amanda Wakeley made the list and earned an OBE for both stocking the fashion industry with elaborate gowns and serving as founding co-chair of Fashion Targets Breast Cancer in the UK. The honour capped off an exceptional year for the designer, who successfully bought back her label from an investor in the midst of financial scandal. Michelle Mone, who founded Glasgow-based lingerie brand MJM International, Ultimo's parent company, earned an OBE of her own.

Since graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2007, the fashion world has been putty in designer, Maria Francesca Pepe's hands. If recieving critical acclaim for her first collection was not good enough, her jewellery was quickly snapped up by the likes of Dover Street Market. The last few seasons has seen her grow her brand from just jewellery to clothing, bags and now shoes too.
In this latest installment of 'In The Studio With', The Fash Pack caught up with the designer to talk about what inspires her to work and her love of listening to dubstep in the studio.
Amanda Wakeley received a huge applause for her Spring/Summer 2010 collection and it wasn't just about the clothes. The brands return to London Fashion Week marks more than a decade since Wakeley actually owned her own label, after she was forced to sell it on after a divorce in 1998. Although she remained creative director, reports claim that she was effectively an employee.
For her comeback collection Wakeley presented her signature evening dresses that came draped in what looked like yellowish gold. shade Jumpsuits and dresses in the same shade were styled with a huge Maria Francesca Pepe choka and two long necklaces creating a goddess like look. The necklaces were also used as a belt, nipping looks in at the waist.

Amanda Wakeley is the latest designer to return to London Fashion Week in September. The news comes at a great time for the designer, who recently reclaimed her company after being told that she was no longer needed at the brand.
Wakeley joins a long line of brands returning to London Fashion Week including Pringle of Scotland and Burberry.
"I am delighted to return to the London Fashion Week schedule in September, especially during such an important season," she told The Telegraph. "Through buying back my label, I have confirmed my commitment to the continued development of Amanda Wakeley and showing again in London is a key step forward in that process.”
Harold Tillman is definitely pleased with the news. "September's London Fashion Week is shaping up to be our biggest and best yet. The timing couldn't be more perfect for Amanda Wakeley to be back at the helm of her company and on the official catwalk schedule in time for our 25 year celebrations."
