This really would be one for the books. If you believe the Daily Star, Amy Winehouse - or her dad, Mitch - is itching for a perfume deal a la Britney Spears and Kylie. Now I'll listen to 'Back to Black' on repeat for hours and not get tired of it, but I think I'll keep the Givenchy around for aroma purposes.
But anyway, an "insider" says: "Mitch is keen to licence Amy's name to a perfume house. He has been in talks with manufacturers and contacted PR firms for advice. They want it to reflect her style with a classic smoky 1950s look and smell."
Hmm. Another insider (ever notice how many of those gossip stories drag up?) from the perfume industry says heck no to all that. "Frankly," says the source, "she doesn't look like she smells all that nice, so doing some positive publicity to prove it doesn't just smell of stale booze and fags would be vital."
Ouch.

Sam Cook and Andy D'Cruze have quite the partnership going. They split their work between the West End and Hertfordshire, Sam has kids to look after when she's supposed to be designing, and the two are promoting a budding label in the time when even heavyweights like Christian Lacroix are troubled. But we think Darkest Star's quirky accessories and t-shirts have potential, and so did the crowd at London's On/Off fashion shows this season.
Here, Cook tells us about her intense work schedule (early mornings included), an infatuation with Amy Winehouse and the reason that leftovers can keep her creative.

Of the new-retro singers, Duffy is pretty much what Mandy Moore was to the girl pop stars of the late '90s. (Amy Winehouse is Xtina, natch, and although she's a non-lipsynching musical genius, Adele has to be Britney because you always get the impression she could go a bit wild.)
Duffy went to Sweden this weekend for Stockholm's 'Where the Action Is' music festival, and she seems to be going a bit more modern with her hairstyle. Do you like her going more natural, or do you miss the beehive?

... Happens to be Brooke Nipar, whom we rediscovered thanks to TrendLand. The former chief photographer for Missbehave (R.I.P.), and a regular for alt-mags like Nylon, Nipar gets creative with colour and light but manages to hit home with members of the street-style-blog generation. She's photographed M.I.A., Lykke Li and Miss Amy Winehouse herself, and we've compiled a set of her best shots. Enjoy.

While some criticise Amy Winehouse's style (okay maybe that's an understatement) the fashion industry have gone crazy for her. All I need to remind you of is Karl Largerfeld taking inspiration from the singer's beehive hairstyle for the models at his London Chanel show. Enough said.
Whatever you think of the 'Rehab' star, she is definitely making an impact on popular culture regardless of her drunken outbursts. Want evidence of that? Br(IT) design duo PPQ have asked the singer to design a capusle collection for the brand.

Landing a make-up line was not what Lauren Luke had in mind when she started up her own YouTube channel two years ago. But that is exactly what the single mum has landed after attracting over 39 million views to her channel of make-up tutorials.
Although not the first to try this out, Luke has overtaken her competitors. Why? Her tutorials provide an easy step-by-step guide to acheive the looks of celebrities like Leona Lewis, Rihanna and Amy Winehouse. She manages to mix simple steps in an approachable relaxed way with humour and wit.

Who can care if she's pantsless or wearing nothing but bubbles when there's a volcano of braids on her skull? Lady GaGa, shown here uncharacteristically covered at Katsuya Restaurant in Brentwood, California, gives Amy Winehouse a run for her money in the strange 'do stakes. Foot-high extensions sculpture, anyone?
