You may know Irina Shayk as the model girlfriend of Cristiano Ronaldo but there's much more to her than that. Her modelling career is doing pretty well. Since starting her career in 2007 she's appeared in everything from the S/S12 Armani Exchange campaign to Kanye West's 'Power' video. It was lingerie giant Intimissimi, though, that gave her her first big break appointing her as their face, replacing Brazilian model Ana Beatriz Barros.
'I believe in destiny - I always knew that I'd leave that village but, replacing someone as big as Ana - that was incredible and so nerve-wracking,' she recently explained. 'I never thought I'd have a career like this. But, I've got good genes - so the underwear posing was OK. I couldn't speak any English when I first left Russia and Intimissimi taught me everything. The team was like a family to me - they showed me how to model and how to stay in shape. They really believed in me.'
It's hardly a surprise then that the model has teamed up with the company again but this time for their book, 'The Perfect Bra.' As the name says, it's all about finding the best bra and for Shayk that's the 'Simona'. 'It's a simple push bra and is so comfortable and flattering,' she told me in an email. 'I love push up bras. Intimissimi has such an amazing selection. I have quite the collection after modelling for them for so many years.' She continued: 'So many women wear the wrong sized bras and I think the campaign, the book and the product will change this.'

Marks & Spencer have decided to cancel their star studded TV adverts. The move was initiated by the company's new chief executive Marc Bolland, who replaced Stuart Rose, who decided to give them the axe after re-evaluating the company's business strategy.
We can't understand why they would drop the campaigns. Sales have dramatically increased at the high street retailer since the campaigns began back in 2004 and they have been largely responsible to a younger more fashion focused customer shopping in the store. After all, M&S was seen as a store for middle aged and elderly woman looking for functional clothes and quality underwear but bringing on the likes of Ana Beatriz Barros, Danni Minogue and VV Brown helped jazz that image up.
You can't be a diva — they never last long. You have to be on time and take care of yourself. You sell your image. That's the job, not partying or travelling, but selling your image.
We were all surprised when news broke that Noémie Lenoir had attempted suicide last month. The model was reportedly discovered unconscious outside her ex-boyfriend's house in Paris after taking a heavy dosage of drugs and alcohol. Luckily, it looks like things are getting better for the French model. After being spotted shopping with her son in Paris two weeks after the incident, model Ana Beatriz Barros tweeted a photo of her and Lenoir on a shoot for Vogue Russia in London, showing that she's back working again.
As was rumoured before the Paris shows began, Giles Deacon had a lineup full of Victoria's Secret beauties, as well as an astounding amount of top models gracing his catwalk for the AW10 show. Opening the show with a perfectly coiffed beehive was Karolina Kurkova, whilst Alessandro Ambrosio closed the show, and the likes of Coco Rocha, Jessica Stam, Carmen Kass and Angela Lindvall walked in between.
Other Victoria's Secret Angels walking for Giles this Fall included Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Izabel Goulart and Ana Beatriz Barros, and whilst it was the super line-up of supermodels that caught most of the attention, amongst the perfectly toned (and endlessly long) pins of the models, Deacon sent a furry bag with eyes. If it wasn't the glamorous '60s-inspired clothes helping Deacon settle in amongst the tough competition away from home in Paris, the British designer's stellar line up of top models sure is.
Even though it's still grey outside, we're already starting to perk up, as the first of the spring looks start to filter into the shops - and equally as ad campaigns start to hit the billboards. M&S is the latest brand (albeit high-street) to unveil the faces of it's spring campaign.
Alongside the usual suspects - Myleen, Twiggy et al - the retail giant has now added Danni Minogue,VV Brown (we know!) and Ana Beatriz Barros into the mix of cool, cute and quirky ladies. With plans to unveil the television and printed ad campaigns by March this year, we're definitely looking forward to the girls' debut.
