André Leon Talley is by far one of our favourite editors. I mean, what's not to love. He plays tennis in Louis Vuitton and Ralph Lauren and has the best selection of velvet shoes that we've seen. If you still need convincing, the ever frank talking editor-at-large gave Time Out New York an insight into his world in a recent interview.
On his style: ‘You cannot live your life in the elitist world of fashion and not step out or you’re disconnected. You have to realise that fashion is not the endgame. I started wearing Uggs two years ago. It’s a cosy shoe. Also, they’re only $98.' In fact, at home, he wears 'Juicy Couture shorts, a Ralph Lauren polo shirt and Uggs.' But don't expect him to wear Crocs. 'I draw the line at Crocs.’
On the Vogue offices: ‘The Vogue offices are full of what I call very angular women wearing stilettos, and maybe that’s just the consciousness — that people think that they need this look when they work at Vogue. But Grace Coddington does not fit that mould and she’s elegant. Look at Michelle Obama, she’s the most fashionable woman in America. But she’s not a fashion plate.’
On his love of Dorothy, Rose, Blanche and Sophia: ‘I only watch MSNBC for the news. And reruns of The Golden Girls. It’s my favourite show. They have a sense of being at home, always wearing different robes and nightgowns. For me it’s one of the greatest shows ever. Helmut Lang loves The Golden Girls too. He told me he used to rush home to watch it. It’s very uplifting and fresh, it just takes you away from the fashionable world.’
Over the past few weeks, we've been upadting you with the latest clips from R.J. Cutler's, 'The September Issue'. The latest clip shows our favourite Vogue editor-at-large, André Leon Tally playing tennis is Ralph Lauren and Louis Vuitton.
Has this not managed to make you even more excited about the documenatry's release?

Recently, Donald Trump announced on The David Letterman Show that Andre Leon Tally will be a judge at this year's Miss Universe final.
If the Vogue editor-at-large's cameo on 'The Hills' is anything to go by, you better get your sky+ set to record the competition now that will broadcast on NBC on the 23rd August, live from the Bahamas.
