It's official. Jean Paul Gaultier is following in the footsteps of leading designers like Anna Sui and Alexander McQueen by designing a capsule collection for Target.
The collaboration comes as a part of the retailer's Designer Collaboration series, in which the designers are made to choose a muse for their collection; Sui most recently chose 'Gossip Girl' while McQueen opted for Leila Moss. Now what for Gaultier? The Cut reports that 'Jean Paul Gaultier for Target pays tribute to the American woman, celebrating the forces of style both past and present in American pop culture'.
The collection is set to hit 250 Target stores across America and will also be available on Target.com from March 7th until April 11th.

Fashion devotees from across the industry, including New York City-based designer, Nanette Lepore, and Representative Diane Watson, gathered last Friday to talk about the state of the fashion industry and show their support for the creation of a “Fashion Caucus” in Congress. “This caucus isn’t about the image of fashion, it’s about the business of fashion,” said Christine Brooks-Cropper, GWFCC President.
“The fashion district is facing extinction, and small factories are being lost to developers,” said Lepore, who plans for a “Save the Fashion District” rally to be held at the bronze garment-worker statue in October.

Someone's feeling a little hippie-ish today, no?
What do you think of Peaches Geldof's look at the Anna Sui runway show?

Anna Sui's like the ringleader: She calls the shots. And she says that come spring, we'll all be wearing metallic, cut-out, studded gladiator boots. In electric blue, naturally.
Sui's usual hippie vibe was infiltrated with notes of marching band (hello, epaulet jackets), teenage preppy (fits with the 'Gossip Girl' collection she recently made for Target), and '80s (dresses paired with shorts). One of our favourite looks would have to be the fitted jumpers worn with tartan mini skirts: oh-so-Jenny-Humphrey.
But we think people will talk about those boots more than anything. Would you wear them?

Which 'Gossip Girl' gets your vote for the best look at Anna Sui's 'Gossip Girl' inspired collection launch for Target?

It's only natural that the 'Gossip Girl' crew attended the event for Anna Sui's pop up store for the launch of her collection for Target. It was inspired by them after all. Taylor Momsen rocked this black high waisted leather skirt, rock tee and dark lip.
What do you think of her look?

Anna Sui has definitely done something right. After much anticipation for her 'Gossip Girl' inspired line for Target, they have decided to open a pop-up store in New York for fans desperate to get their hands on the line.
The pop-up store, which will work as a part of Anna Wintour's Fashion Night Out, will take place on September 10th, three days before it's scheduled release online and in Target stores.
If you're in New York at the time, make sure to get down to 54 Crosby St, to get your piece of 'Gossip Girl' glam for less than $150.

Congrats to Anna Sui, yet again. The designer has just received the OCA Pioneer Award, which celebrates contributions of Asian-Pacific Americans. Sui was honoured at this weekend's OCA National Convention in San Francisco.
"Thinking back to my childhood and dreaming about being a fashion designer, I never realised that I would be in the position I'm in now," said Sui. "To receive an honour from not only the CFDA and the China Fashion Association this year, but now from the OCA National, is so exciting and I'm extremely grateful."
The Council of Fashion Designers of America gave Sui the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, and the China Fashion Association honoured her with the Classic Icon of Fashion Design award.

It was a starry, black night for Anna Sui at last night's screening of 'It Might Get Loud' in New York. Also: we want the woman's bag.
Can this designer dress herself well?
