Karl Lagerfeld Now Has a Chocolate Baptiste Giabiconi

Your eyes aren't deceiving you: This is an all-chocolate version of Karl Lagerfeld's muse of the moment, Baptiste Giabiconi. As part of Lagerfeld's partnership with Magnum, which also saw him create a series of short films starring Giabiconi and Rachel Bilson, the designer conceptualised a full Paris hotel room made of 10.5 tons of Belgian chocolate. In the room, you'll find a chocolate chair, table, rug and bed - topped, of course, with a chocolate Baptiste in white-chocolate briefs.

Baptiste Giabiconi Previews His New 'Electro-Pop' Album

Image copyright Baptiste Giabiconi

It was only a matter of time before Baptiste Giabiconi added a slash to his title of model and muse to Karl Lagerfeld, and now it seems that his career multi-tasking will be of the musical variety - proving rumours that emerged in March to be true. Yes, Baptiste has an album coming out, and he told Pony Ryder that "it will not be fashion-inspired at all." We wonder how that suits Karl...

He describes the upcoming album as "eletro-pop" and has released a preview of his single, 'Showtime,' here. (We find it a bit like Enrique Iglesias, and we're not making a value judgment on that.) Says Baptiste: "I don't have any pressure [to prove myself]. I just do what I like, and I hope people will enjoy it as much as I do singing it."

Chanel: Maximalists, 2-Year-Olds And Ines De La Fressange

Karl Lagerfeld is always known for making his own rules, and this season at Chanel, he kicked away every other designer's idea of minimalism with a biker boot-clad heel. The heritage tweeds that made it into the collection were hole-ridden and weathered - bonus points for when they were paired with cut-off gloves and tough-to-the-bone jewellery. The sweet and girly feeling we sometimes get with the line? That went one of two ways: either blown out to magnificent proportions with feathers, ruffles and frills; or zapped of innocence with gothic accents and biker-bar appeal. If the younger Chanel customer is a prim and proper debutante, then she's slipping on leather shorts underneath her cocktail dress to slip out the window and visit her boyfriend.

Besides turning out an all-hail-worthy collection, Lagerfeld had a big season in terms of runway appearances. He put aside any beef he might have had (for the past 20 years) with Ines de la Fressange and brought her back to the catwalk, and he let his former muse, Brad Kroenig, bring his 2-year-old for a little turn. As if we needed to mention it, Baptiste Giabiconi was there. But then again, he wouldn't miss it.

A Look At Couture Fashion Week's Top Models Sees Karlie Kloss On Top

While the usual faces appeared on the runways of this Couture Fashion Week, one bright young star beat her veteran model competition to top spot - Karlie Kloss, who closed for Armani Privé as well as opening both Jean Paul Gaultier and Christian Dior. Quite a feat for such a young model, she beat Carmen Kass, who opened for Michael Kors and Armani Privé, and Karolina Kurkova, who strode onto the catwalk first at Elie Saab.

Unusually for Chanel, the opening outfit was sported by Natasha Poly as opposed to the usual likes of Freja Beha Erichsen, Heidi Mount or Abbey Lee, and the show was closed by Iris Strubegger alongside Lagerfeld favourite Baptiste Giabiconi. Being the new face for the brand, it was unsurprising that Freja opened for Valentino, but overall it was still Kloss that topped the couture charts this season.

Karl Lagerfeld Adds Men To The Pirelli Line-Up

News came in today that Karl Lagerfeld, who has the honor of shooting the Pirelli calendar, has added three to four boys into the mix. Although the news came as a surprise to some, many thought the move was to be expected considering Uncle Karl's tendency to throw men into his shoots - most notably his recent muse Baptiste Giabiconi.

At present the Pirelli people are keeping tight lipped about the men taking part.  Unfortunately we've still got a bit of a wait before all is revealed. The big unveiling will take place on November 30 in Moscow.

Update: Isabeli Fontana tweeted images from the shoot revealing that the line up of girls includes herself, Heidi Mount, Natasha Poly, Magdalena Frackowiak, and Bianca Balti. Lara Stone and Julianne Moore are also rumoured to be taking part.

Karl Lagerfeld Creates A Limited Edition Coco Cola

In a stroke of genius, Coca Cola, the globally successful soft drinks company have joined forces with long time fan Karl Lagerfeld for their latest limited edition version of the Coca Cola light drink. The collaboration makes perfect sense - Lagerfeld has been an advocate of the drink for many years now, and so the legendary designer has not only created an exclusive bottle design, but also shot the campaign himself.

With a fitting name, the advert features Canadian model Coco Rocha alongside Lagerfeld's male muse Baptise Giabiconi, and sees Rocha modelling a Lagerfeld signature high collared shirt from his Spring collection and fingerless gloves, all of which are reminiscent of the instantly recognisable monochrome silhouette that adorns the special edition bottle. The campaign is set to hit France on the 28th of April, and will cover a giant billboard across the famous Galleries Lafayette where the drink will be available in a limited edition boxed version, complete with a matching bottle opener for 47 euros. The box set will also be available from the ever-cool Colette, so be sure to head down to France this Spring for some shopping and a seriously fashionable drink.

Is Karl Lagerfeld's Muse, Baptiste Giabiconi, Releasing An Album?

Image via Guest of a Guest

Madonna's plaything, Jesus Luz, might have some competition in the male-model-turned-recording-artist genre. It appears that Karl Lagerfeld's muse, Baptiste Giabiconi, might have an album coming out. In response to an interview request by Beauty Confidential, a rep for the model declined by saying: "Baptiste has a very busy schedule for the time being among the fashion shows [and] the preparation of his album...he has no time off for the next few months."

For a recent interview with W magazine's Editors' Blog, Lagerfeld described Giabiconi as "perfect when dressed and stunning undressed" and added: "There is no other model in the business like him." A 20-year-old former metalworker, Giabiconi's dream, a few years ago, was to save enough money to buy a pizza truck. It's safe to say he won't be selling you a slice anytime soon.
