When Bar Refaeli recently confirmed that she has a underwear line in the works, it made sense. After all, Leonardo Di Caprio's former flame has made a career out of posing in swimwear and lingerie so likeSelita Ebanks, it was only a matter of time before she decided to cash in on it.
Her under.me line has officially launched this week and to celebrate, the model released a short of video of herself sporting pieces for the collection while playing tennis. Whether the video was aimed at showing just how comfortable the line is, something she has focused on in plugging the line, or whether it was just one for the boys, I'm not sure.
'My underwear is the clothing article closest to my body, and as such, I want it to complement it and not steal the show. There is nothing better than simple, comfortable, quality clothing,' she wrote on the brand's website. 'My work means I’m travelling all the time, rushing from city to city and wearing the most incredible, elaborate designs. I love it, but on my downtime I just want to relax and be myself...I don’t want my clothes to define me. And that’s the idea behind under.me – a focused collection of beautifully-made basics that look good and feel amazing. That’s all I need.'
Bar Refaeli has been pretty quiet in the last few months, minus her recent role in the annual amfAR gala, but expect to be see more from the model in the coming month. Today the New York Post confirmed that the model has signed on the be a judge in episode of E!'s new reality series, Scouted. “Bar will appear in one episode, advising and helping aspiring models,” a source revealed.
Following in the footsteps of America's Next Top Model, the show is centred on finding the next big thing in modelling talent with the winner securing a spot in Scott Lipps' New York agency, One Management.
Despite Milan Fashion Week being in full swing, yesterday evening wasn't about clothes as Milan hosted the third annual amfAR Milano event. This years's chairs include models Eva Herzigova, Heidi Klum and Bar Refaeli and guests included Chanel Iman, John Legend, Roberto Cavalli and Giovanna Battaglia.
Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld sure knows how to throw a party. Despite fashion week being in full swing and having to be up for show at 9am this morning, just about every editor and model came out to party last night co celebrate his touring exhibition with Richard Hambleton.
Guests included mother Carine and sister Julia Restoin Roitfeld along with Giovanna Battaglia, naturally, and the likes of Mario Sorrenti, Jessica Hart and Doutzen Kroes.
After six years together Leonardo DiCaprio and model Bar Refaeli have decided to split. A source close the model told The New York Post that the split "was amicable, they're still friends and they are still talking....They just grew apart and went their separate ways." According to the source, nobody else was involved in the split. "Neither were ready to settle down, and both have busy careers that have been taking them in different directions," the source continued.
Last night saw Anna Wintour host the much anticipated Fashion's Night Out fashion show. The show - which is New York's largest ever public show - was designed to get the public excited for Fashion's Night Out which takes place in America on Friday.
The last seasons saw Lara Stone dominate the leading ad campaigns. After replacing Madonna at Louis Vuitton, Stone went on to replace Sasha Pivovarova at both Prada and Armani. But it looks liker her campaign zeal is slowing down. This week, word broke that Natalia Vodianova and Christy Turlington are set to repace the Dutch model.
Many are surprised by the rumour after we all expected Adriana Lima, Elle Macpherson or Bar Refaeli - who all walked in the Spring/Summer 2010 show - to appear in the campaign.
Yesterday, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentinoposted pictures on his Facebook page showing his shoot for Interview magazine. The real shock? He was posing with Bar Refaeli, whom The Situation recognises as "Leo Dicaprio's gurl." Now, The Cut reports that Terry Richardson was the photographer behind it all, and he's captured the rest of the 'Jersey Shore' boys, too.
Richardson posted more evidence on his site, and the additional shots show a very graphic view of The Situation's abs and chest, Richardson's very fake six-pack, a close-up of Pauly D's hair, and a group workout session in which Richardson becomes a laughing stock at the bench press. We just wonder where the girls from MTV's cast were - unless, of course, JWoww and the others were still on a rigorous tour of the fashion-week circuit.
