It’s another behind-the-scenes at another of my recent shoots. This time the focus is on hair! Charlie Le Mindu hair to be exact. We’ve been asked to do a beauty shoot for ZOOT magazine, a Portugal-based fashion magazine that is both online and printed. I love doing beauty shoots, as there’s no distraction from clothes or accessories it’s just all about the hair, the makeup and the beauty of the model(s).
Just a quick note about my observation on doing beauty shoots: The fact is, sometimes it’s such close-up shots that what looks amazingly beautiful when seen as a whole face is sometimes (not always) quite boring. I’ve personally had to train myself through experience to detach the features and to focus only on the specific feature when shooting close up beauty shoots. However, today it’s about hair.
Fashion and beauty go hand in hand, so it comes as no surprise that we're eager to know what we'll be wearing on our face next season, let alone our bodies. Besides the usual summer beauty trend- beach hair and tanned limbs- we've got the run down of all the newest looks to emerge from the SS10 runways. The only question is, which one will you be wearing come spring time?
Now that it's summer, the last thing you'll want to do is put on a full face of makeup. But if you don't feel like going barefaced, then you can follow the lead of these ladies, who have a pretty good idea of how to keep things fresh in the warmer months.
Kim Kardashian, recognising that vampires are "all the rage right now", has opted for a mini makeover inspired by 'Twilight' and the Fall '09 Prada runway show. The socialite and makeup artist Troy Jensen experimented with a gothic look and posted the results on her website.
Those of you worried that she picked up on the NY Times' star trend, going eyebrowless, fear not. Says Kim: "I didn't actually get rid of my eyebrows, haha. Troy used an eyebrow concealing wax to hide them! Pretty creepy, right?"
