New York Fashion Week is officially in full swing. During fashion month it's easy to forget that there is life outside the shows but just like fashion, Hollywood doesn't stop and this morning we're all waking up to a big story. According to People magazine, fashion favourite Blake Lively tied the knot with Ryan Reynolds in a secret wedding over the weekend.
A source confirmed to the title that the couple got married last night just outside of Charleston. According to the source, Florence Welch, who Lively met on the set of 'Gossip Girl', performed three songs at the event. As yet there's still no word about who designed her wedding dress but it's pretty safe to say that it's either Frida Giannini at Gucci or Karl Lagerfeld.
Yes, it's true! Yesterday morning British Vogue confirmed that Alexa Chung will appear in the final season of Gossip Girl and this week, has been busy filming scenes alongside Blake Lively and Leighton Meester. At the moment there's been no word on how may episodes she will star in but what we do know is that the appearance will be a cameo rather than a role.
Considering that fashion plays such a prominent part in the show and the Americans are just as obsessed about her as people are on this side of the pond, the news comes as no surprise. It would have been a lot more interesting, though, to see her have a real role. I mean, how brilliant would it have been to see her play Dan Humphries latest squeeze?

Last month the brand released that beautiful Mert & Marcus-shot print ad in which the actress stars and today, a short film directed by Nicholas Winding Refn was released to accompany the print campaign.
The video begins in the famous Goldstein Residence in Hollywood, which you might remember for the Charlie's Angels movies, before heading to the desert. Lively glistens like a star in a gold sequin Gucci gown surrounded by gold and absolutely epitomises that old school timeless Hollywood glamour look. It's a shame that Hugo Boss didn't do something similar with Gwyneth Paltrow for her fragrance campaign.

When Blake Lively was announced as the face of Gucci's new fragrance, it raised some questions. As she is still a handbag ambassador for Chanel many began to ask whether her new gig would be a conflict of interest.
At the time the news was announced Chanel decided to keep quiet about the matter but the fact that the actress didn't turn up to the Chanel couture show recently, which she usually attends, only ignited the rumours. As a result, the brand released a statement today to quash the reports tell the New York post that, 'Blake is still an ambassador to Chanel and regularly keeps in touch with designer Karl Lagerfeld. She was invited to the couture sow but couldn't make it because she was promoting 'Savages'...She still wears Chanel whenever she can.'

Last week reps for the brand confirmed that the actress will serve as the face of their new fragrance and it's perfect timing since she's currently in the spotlight again as she promotes her new movie, 'Savages'. To attend the film's New York premiere at the SVA Theater she wore a one-of-a-kind yellow halterneck dress teamed with turquoise jewelery.
'Gossip Girl' may be over but Blake Lively already has a string of movies in the work and that's not all. Today Gucci confirmed that the 24-year old will front the campaign for their new fragrance, Gucci Première.
'Gucci is a staple. It is a brand I have always looked up to because to me it represents strength,' the actress told WWD. 'In their designs, in their images, in what they stand for philanthropically, and especially in their fragrance. I couldn't be more proud to be working with Gucci and its heart, Frida.'
We haven't seen much of Blake Lively on the red carpet recently, which is something new considering that the 'Gossip Girl' star has been a firm favourite on New York's fashion scene over the years. Saying that, she has had quite a few magazine appearancess recently. As you'll remember, last month she covered Bullett magazine shot by David Slijper and now her July cover of US Marie Claire has dropped.
While the full shoot doesn't steer too far from all of her other magazine editorials, I really like them. As the accompanying editorial says, 'few women can pull off short and tight quite like Blake Lively.' Where most would look on the skimpy side, there's something about Lively that gives 'her free freign t strut what the rest of us only dare to imagine.'
'Gossip Girl' may be on the way out but that hasn't affected Blake Lively's power to bag covers. Yesterday Bullett magazine released the images of the actresses cover lensed by David Slijper.
Naturally, her experiences on the show was the main focal point of the accompanying story. 'Gossip Girl was so great, but what's the next challenge in life? Because, you know, six years is a long time,' she said. 'And as an actor who plays a caricature of myself on the show, I don't think I'd say, 'Watch Gossip Girl for my best quality of work.' But I am very lucky to have had that experience.'
The cast of 'Gossip Girl' have made no secret of the fact that they plan to officially fly the nest soon and this week it became clear that that time is a lot sooner than what we all had thought.
The CW Network confirmed that the sixth season of the show, which is currently on air, will be it's last and has been shortened meaning that there are only eleven episodes left. So far Chase Crawford who plays Nate Archibald is the only person who has spoken out about the news. 'For me, it's going to be...tough to leave New York City and it's definitely an end of an era,' he told Us Weekly. 'It was college for everyone really.'
