Brooklyn Decker was out yesterday promoting her movie 'Battleship' at its Los Angeles premiere wearing Christian Dior S/S12. While the dress is feminine and romantic with all of the lace and tiers, the look doesn't resonate as well as some of the great looks we've seen the actress sport over the course of the movie's promotional tour.
Peter Pilotto and designer partner Christopher De Vos are on a roll. The brand is increasingly being sported on the red carpet in Hollywood and this week Flare magazine dropped their latest cover starring Brookyn Decker sporting one of their dresses from the S/S12 collection. Today the design duo confirmed that that's not the end because next up is Pitti W, as the pair will serve as the guest designers at the event next month.
'We invited Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos because we were looking for a modern approach to feminine elegance that is constant, profound and has the ability to think about itself,' Lapo Cianchi, Pitti Immagine's director of communications, said. 'We saw this in the evolution of their collections, a knowledgeable process that develops around surprising colours, body-conscious draping and light sculpting. It was also interesting to see how the designers' two distinct spirits come together and reinterpret fashion's classic elements.'
The pair will show their pre-spring/summer 2013 collection at the event, which takes place in Florence from June 19 to 22.
Brooklyn Decker has never been someone that I've particularly followed but that all changed recently, as there's no denying that she's pulled some strong looks out of the bag on the promotional tour for her latest film, 'Battlefield.' Her recent cover of Canadian magazine Flare magazine's June 2012 issue simply confirms her winning streak and sees her styled in a strong blue and white printed dress from Peter Pilotto's S/S12 collection.
The cover is strong for several reasons. Granted Decker looks incredible but more importantly it cements that British designers are really making waves internationally. Peter Pilotto is slowly being worn by more and more celebrities in Hollywood but to land a major cover, especially as a relatively young brand, is a definitely a big step in the right direction . Hopefully it doesn't end there.
While I've always liked Rihanna's style, her outfit choices of late - remind yourself of her head-to-toe BOY London outfits - haven't had me excited. It was good, then, to see the singer on top form this morning as she promoted her debut acting role in 'Battlefield' at London's Corinthia Hotel.
To attend the press conference she chose this olive green pre-fall Alexander Wang dress that felt a lot more ladylike than what we've seen from her recently and was joined by Brooklyn Decker who wore S/S12 Stella McCartney. As this is only the beginning of the world press tour, I'm sure we can expect a lot more outfits from her in the coming weeks and so far so good.
Last night MTV hosted their annual Movie Awards in Universal City, California. Despite the A-list guests - Kristen Stewart, Reese Witherspoon and Leighton Meester were all in attendance - the red carpet outfits were disappointing.
The 2011 Met Ball has finally arrived and the stars have come out with a venegance and on the red carpet Kanye West most notably appearing sporting the first glimpse of Tory Burch's first foray into the world of menswear.
Brooklyn Decker showed off her curves in this blush-coloured body-con Victoria Beckham number at the Country Music Awards this weekend. She paired the look with simple black pumps and (very) minimal jewellery.
Whitney Port and Brooklyn Decker both sported this sequin black and white Alice + Olivia top. Port teamed hers with ripped boyfriend jeans and a black blazer jacket while Decker went feminine with draped shorts and leopard print heels.
