What words come to mind when you think about Carolina Herrera. Luxury, elegance and glamour, right? So I'm sure, like us, the idea of her working on a diffusion line with Target sounds slightly far fetched.
However, The Cut managed to speak to the designer this week at New York City Opera's theatre debut this week where she revealed that a collaboration is something she would consider. “Of course!” she said when asked whether she would accept an offer. “If they asked me, of course.”
Does this mean we can expect a collaboration any time soon? Only time will tell.

The American Vogue Editor-in-Chief, wearing a Carolina Herrera dress and her trademark sunglasses, coolly strutted onto David Letterman's stage on last Monday night's The Late Show. Once sat, Wintour joked with Letterman over his socks, suggesting that he visit Thom Browne, famous for focusing on socks with high trouser hemlines.
It seemed Letterman had no comprehension of just how big a deal it was to be talking to the queen of fashion, as he openly admitted not knowing much about Vogue and casually flicked through the September issue on his desk. Although, he did go on to ask: "You are bigger than what you do for a living. Is that a fair assessment?" showing at least some recognition of her reputation. Wintour replied: "I read in The New York Times this week that I'm an ice queen, I'm the Sun King, I'm an alien fleeing from District 9 and I'm a dominatrix. So I reckon that makes me a lukewarm royalty with a whip from outer space. What do you think?"

If recent reports are anything to go by, the dust has not really settled since Olivier Theyskens' departure from Nina Ricci. According to sources, Puig Fashion Group, who own Nina Ricci as well as brand such as Carolina Herrera, has just lost their president.
Mario Grauso will alegedly stand down after New York Fashion Week next month when his contract runs out. Grauso, who was amongst the first to sing Theyksens praises last season, is reportedly leaving as a result of the designer's departure from the house.

Just as we expected, the premiere for 'The September Issue' had the best of the fashion industry hitting the red carpet just to get a glimpse into the inner world of Vogue, and the life of Anna Winour. The American fashion industry officially went into a stand still for the afternoon.
Everyone from Zac Posen to Diddy was in attendance.

It looks like Mark Indelicato loves fashion as much as his 'Ugly Betty' character Justin. According to The Cut, after the 15-year old showed designer Carolina Herrera some sketches of a denim line he's working on, the designer offered him an internship on the spot.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced yesterday that this September 10 will be quite the day - or should we say evening - for style. Fashion Night Out, an initiative that will keep more than 100 stores across the city open until 11 p.m. and feature special in-store events, is on the calendar to boost the city financially and sartorially.
The mayor pointed out that fashion generates $10 billion annually for the city, so hopefully hosting this on the first day of New York Fashion Week will be a proportionate jump start to The Economy. Having the likes of Anna Wintour, Vera Wang, Carolina Herrera, Marc Jacobs and Calvin Klein on board should certainly increase the chances.
