The unveiling of the big September issues is in full force and the latest comes from US ELLE. As previously reported, Katy Perry covers the issue shot by the magazine's long time collaborator, Carter Smith.
Aside from their recent Selena Gomez cover, I haven't been all too impressed by the magazine's covers this year but this one is good and will no doubt go down well with the singer's fans. When she covered their March issue she boosted circulation numbers by a reported 18 per cent and considering all the press surrounding her at the moment, what with her film and the finalisation of her divorce with Russell Brand, there is no doubt that this will be another strong one.
Back in November we revealed that Leighton Meester has signed a big contract with Vera Wang and early this year we revealed a sneak peak of outtakes from the shoot and now the ad has finally been released.
Shot by Carter Smith, Meester appears on a balcony in Paris in a couture Wang gown to promote the brand's 'Lovestruck' fragrance. As well as featuring in the print campaign, the 'Gossip Girl' star will also appear in a TV commercial. “When I heard tourists saying, ‘I want to look like her,’ I knew we were right on the money,” Wang told WWD the day of the shoot. “There’s nothing like the real client in the street, and I mean the street literally — and in windows literally.”
The perfume will arrive in stores in American this summer.
Leighton Meester has Reebok and Herbal Essences campaigns under her belt, so it was only a matter of time before she moved into mainstream fashion. Last week it was announced that the 'Gossip Girl' star is doing just that and recently signed a $3million two-year deal to front the yet unnamed new Vera Wang fragrance.
The campaign for the scent - set to be released next summer - was shot over the weekend in New York by Carter Smith.
