As always, Chanel put on quite the show this week to showcase their eighteenth-century-themed cruise collection in the gardens at the Palace of Versailes. Naturally the beautiful backdrop was a draw but according to Karl Lagerfeld, this year's venue was more about convenience. 'As we are very, very busy I liked the idea of not going to far,' he told WWD.
Next year's cruise collection is going to be bigger he confirmed. 'My idea is to hire a train. have dinner on the train, do the show in a ballroom and go back at night,' he revealed, explaining that he is thinking of staging the show in Deauville, a small city in Normandy to celebrate the 100th anniversary of one of their stores there.
It was lace, lace and more lace for Japanese actress Rinko Kikuchi at the Chanel cruise runway show in Venice. 'The Brothers Bloom' star looked like a perfect lady - and even managed to pull off those tricky blunt bangs. Do you agree?
