The second issue of Pop since Dasha Zhukova assumed the role of editor will soon be out. And it would seem that Ms Zhukova decided to up the risque factor by choosing supermodel in the making Abbey Lee Kershaw to star on the cover. Languidly draped over a motorcycle whilst effortlessly channeling cowgirl-chic, Kershaw smolders on the cover and ensures, as always, that she captivates her audience.
The behind-the-scenes video, however, is where the fun really begins. Dressed in an understated fringed leather leotard teamed with tousled hair and barely-there makeup, clips of Kershaw writhing on the motorcycle, tossing her locks and generally seducing the camera form the bulk of the minute-long clip. But cover and video aside, the inside pages are worth a read, too. Sade's revival, the introduction of up-and-coming designer Haider Ackermann, and catching up with Tavi in Tokyo: what's not to like?

As we bid farewell to the end of the year and 2010 is fast approaching we thought it would only be fair to share with you some of the biggest fashion moments from 2009.
January:
Michelle Obama's inauguration day outfits, designed by Isabel Toledo (day dress suit) and Jason Wu (evening gown), caught the attention of the fashion world. Obama has since donned a number of fashion-forward outfits, which has propelled her onto a number of best-dressed lists and has helped launch the career of Jason Wu.

There's been double baby boy joy on the fashion scene recently, with both supermodel Gisele Bundchen and fashion designer and gallery owner Dasha Zhukova giving birth each to a son. Although details of Gisele's new arrival hadn't been revealed when the birth was confirmed yesterday morning - supposedly because the Brazilian beauty and her husband Tom Brady hadn't yet picked a name - it has been confirmed that Dasha gave birth to Aaron Alexander Abramovich. Aaron will be the Russian entrepreneur's first child, and partner Roman Abramovich's sixth, who was said to be there at the birth. Congratulations to both Gisele and Dasha, no doubt both babies will be gorgeous judging by their genes...

POP's September Issue is to mark the sign of changing times. The issue is the first (of many to come), with Dasha Zhukova as the editor-in-chief- since the departure of Katie Grand earlier this year.
Zhukova was a surprising choice to some given that she has always maintained that 'fashion really isn't her thing', unlike art which, has been both a hobby and a business since she opened an art gallery in Moscow last year.
Zhukova intends to fuse her knowledge of art with the fashion that POP has come to be known for- and if the number of advertisers, including Prada, Chanel, Dior, Chloe and Armani, within the 316 pages is anything to go by, it is clear that fashion insiders are 100% in support of and behind this 'new look' POP. Zhukova enthuses that POP is welcoming a 'new era that is more fluid than ever before', and will see fashion and art equally complement each other.
Ensure to pick up this month's issue which sees Margaret Thatcher hailed as a fashion icon, Rodarte celebrating 'US stem-cell scientists' and Tavi Gevinson, the 13 year old blogger currently earning much kudos, and over a million followers for her engaging and witty daily blog.

Much has been made of Dasha Zhurkova's appointment as editor-in-chief of POP, taking ovet the reigns from uber stylist Katie Grand. Back in February when the news broke, Zhukova said that she wants to "provide a broader point of view focusing also on art, contemporary culture, and the globalisation of all things pop-related."
After much anticipation, what is said to be Zhukova's first issue for the magazine has leaked on The Fashion Spot and people are not pleased. The cover sees 13-year-old blogging star, Tavi go centre stage.

New POP editor Dasha Zhukova has been quiet recently considering she has the re-launch of the magazine soon. Many are speculating that the the usually press-loving editor has been hiding away at the moment because she's expecting a child with billionaire boyfriend Roman Abramovich.
Sources close to the couple have been quick to squash rumours saying that Zhukova's stomach is 'as flat as a board'.

Now that Katie Grand is out and Dasha Zhukova is in at POP, the fashion community is waiting anxiously to see what the new version of the mag will look like. Thanks to staff-posted photos, now we have a clue.
The picture above (and there are more here) comes from a shoot last week at London's Shoreditch studios. Tamara Rothstein styled Hannah Rundlof and Melo Dagault as film-noir femme fatales, with photographer Tung Walsh taking the shots. Expect to see Margiela, Westwood, McQueen and Watenabe in the style credits.
The first revamped issue of POP comes out Sept. 1. Will you be buying it?
