Without a doubt it has been the year of Victoria Beckham. She's made some tough decisions - including cutting her dVb line - and has had great success with the release of her eponymous label. She's made the difficult transition from well loved pop star, WAG and mother to accredited designer in a short space of time, so it makes sense that LOVE magazine have named her their Most Stylish Person of 2009.
Compiled by Katie Grand, LOVE Deputy Editor Isaac Lock, LOVE blog editor Christina Lindsay and Giles Deacon, the LOVE blog released their list of their 30 most stylish people of 2009, awarding icons like Lara Stone, Marc Jacobs and Dree Hemingway for their individuality and keen fashion sense.
It's safe to say that Victoria Beckham - idol of our younger years - has come a long way since the Spice Girls launched her to fame back in the '90s. Now a wife, mother, singer, fashion muse and designer, Posh Spice is slowly but surely conquering the fashion world as she enters her fourth season as an accredited fashion designer. This season sees the launch of her eyewear and denim collections under her Victoria Beckham empire - after the dVb label is no longer - both to be sold in select stores such as Net-a-Porter, each featuring their own short films created exclusively for the launch.
The friendship between Hollywood actress Katie Holmes and British singer-come designer, Victoria Beckham has taken an interesting turn this week, as Holmes' new fashion line, Holmes & Yang has been recently bought by high-end LA boutique, Maxfield. Victoria's denim line, dVb, however has been dropped from the boutique, reportedly because of "poor sales".
A representative for Victoria claimed that "Maxfield has not carried any dVb product for the past three seasons", although Maxfield wouldn't confirm how long ago the line had been dropped. After following in Victoria's footsteps, this latest revellation must have been disheartening for Posh, after her line had already been dropped by Kitson, Saks and Bendels. Lets hope that her main clothing line, Victoria Beckham, gets along a little better.
