Tom Cruise has always been a bit of a strange character in my eyes, what with his jumping up on sofas and cringey public display's of attention, and his latest cover of W magazine hasn't done much to change that view.

Before you get concerned about the actor's new hair style and tattoos, don't worry - they're not real. The cover is geered to promote his latest role in the screen adaptation of the big Braodway musical 'Rock of Ages'. If you were wondering why Abbey Lee Kershaw and a very hands-on Edita Vilkeviciute are in the shot too, Cruise said that it was all about upping the sex factor. 'I knew we had to push the sexuality because of the nature of the character and the songs,' he explained.

Karl Lagerfeld is fast becoming a designer-come-film director to b reckoned with. Following the success of his first offerings for last year's Chanel Pre Fall ten minute (silent) film to mark the "Paris - Moscow" collection, Lagerfeld yesterday showcased this year's film to mark the release of the Paris-Shanghai Pre Fall collection. The footage was projected against the Shanghai city scape for added Chanel elegance of course, and sees Edita Vilkeviciute reprising her role as the young Coco Chanel in the 22 minute film. New York's Time Square came to a stand still yesterday as the Victoria Secrets 'angels' made an appearance ahead of tonight's taping. Onlookers must have thought they had died and gone to heaven as the likes of Miranda Kerr, Alessandra Ambrosio, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Chanel Iman and Heidi Klum posed, pouted and blew kisses to by-standers. Other new angels, spotted in the VS throng included Elyse Taylor, Sessilee Lopez, Tatiana Kovylina ( a VS 2005 alumni), although it would seem that there are lots more surprises, in the form of new angels, to come (including confirmation that Anja Rubik and Abbey Lee Kershaw will also be making an appearance on the runway).

Fashionologie has reported that photos of the likes of Anna Maria Jagodzinska and Edita Vilkeviciute have been spotted on the casting board, but Emanuela de Paula will be taken off the line-up due to conflicting work schedules. Either way, it would seem that heaven will be missing many of its angels tonight as they strut down the VS runway. We are so excited it hurts!

You don't have to be a skater to fully appreciate Doodah's limited-edition Supermodel Skateboard Project ads. Unlike most campaigns, the focus isn't on the beautiful clothes. The ads, shot by Claudia Knoepfel, feature a near-naked Isabeli Fontana, Lara Stone, Edita Vilkeviciute and Toni Garn in nothing more than killer heels and their skateboards. Model mogul Erin Wasson is the latest to join the gang in Balmain. Her limited-edition board will be released in mid-August. Only 150 will be made.

In more Wasson news, the model has just secured a small role in Sofia Coppola's new move 'Somewhere'. Erin takes the role of 'Party Girl #1' in the movie that centres around a serial-partying actor living at the Chateau Marmont who gets a suprise visit from his 11-year-old daughter.
