Quote Me: Elizabeth Olsen Loves A Good Freebie

I can’t justify shopping because I'm like, ‘I got something like that for free, why would I spend money on it?’

Get Ready To Embrace The Embellished Collar

Elizabeth Olsen in a Marni collar at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association luncheon

Collars have always been seen as saying a lot about you. Think white collars for professionals and blue collars for workers and you'll see where I'm going. Decorative collars on the other hand say less about your professional standing and more about your sartorial one and this season it's all about embellishment.

Following on from the love of all things elaborate that has slowly gained pace after the minimalist days, the A/W12 shows were decorative and the accessories even more so. Thanks to the likes of Karl Lagerfeld and Marni, the statement collar isn't going anywhere and the offerings are really good. Consuelo Castiglioni nailed it again this season at Marni creating neoprene styles in black, white and red colourways with resin broaches and geometrical applications. If the Marni price point is out of reach, don't worry because the styles will no doubt be making their way to the high street very soon.

Is Elizabeth Olsen An Off-Duty Style Star In The Making?

I must admit, it took me a while to jump on the Elizabeth Olsen parade. I've always been a big fan of her sisters, Mary-Kate and Ashley, so when she landed on the radar last year to promote her debut film 'Martha Marcy May Marlene' the expectations about her style choices was high.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Olsen explained that she is aware of the expectations on her and especially at the beginning. 'Whatever you wear is like a huge statement out to the world so you have to have someone help you figure it all out.' Having a great stylist like Cher Coulter on board has really helped. While I wasn't a fan of her earlier red carpet choices, her most recent looks have been really good and seem to be continuing to move that way. Saying that, it's her off-duty style that has really caught my attention. The buttoned up white shirts and blouses and laid back jeans and boots combo really work. It looks like she will follow in her sisters footsteps after all by quickly becoming a source of style inspiration for our wardrobes.

What do you think of her off-duty look?

AnnaSophia Robb Had Her Big Fashion Debut At The Ferragamo Party

Yesterday Salvatore Ferragamo held a big party in New York to celebrate the launch of their new fragrance, Signorina. While they managed to pull a pretty impressive guest list - everyone from Veronica Webb to Emma Roberts attended - all eyes were on AnnaSophia Robb.

As we reported last month, the young actress has just secured the role of the young Carrie Bradshaw in much anticipated, 'The Carrie Diaries'. While her look didn't wow me, I have a feeling that Jennifer Lawrence and Elizabeth Olsen might have some competition with her in the coming months. The TV series is set to be a big one and it's only a matter of time before the industry begin to woo her just as they are doing to Lawrence and Olsen at the moment.

Say Hello To The Younger Carrie Bradshaw

Over the past year much speculation has circulated about who will play Carrie Bradshaw in the much-anticipated CW series, 'The Carrie Diaries', which is the prequel to 'Sex and the City'. While the front runners for the role were Blake Lively and Elizabeth Olsen, today reports confirm that relatively unknown actress Anna Sophia Robb has booked the job.

Who will play the other characters is still unknown but what we do know is that 'Gossip Girl' producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz are on board along with the show's much-loved costume designer Eric Daman.

First Look: Elizabeth Olsen Wows In Her VS Magazine Spread

Elizabeth Olsen's arrival on the social scene last year was met with high expectations. Her older twin sisters, Mary-Kate and Ashley, are international style-icons loved for their penchant for avante garde in the perfect combination of high and low. And to a great extent, I think we were all guilty of expecting a similar aesthetic from her and being disappointed when she didn't comform to that 'look'.

While some of her outfits have been disappointing, her style developed a lot last year and in her latest editorial for VS magazine she really seems to be coming into her own. Moving away from the mediocre looks that she was styled in for Nylon, stylist Vibe Dabelsteen tapped into her penchant for feminine pieces but gave them an interesting twist in what is definitely my favourite cover shoot from her so far.

Rooney Mara, Elizabeth Olsen And More Star On Vanity Fair's Hollywood Issue Cover

Vanity Fair's annual Hollywood Issue cover is always good but this year's offerings is my favourite. The pull-out cover stars Rooney Mara, Mia Wasikowska, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, Elizabeth Olsen, Adepero Oduye, Shailene Woodley, Paula Patton, Felicity Jones, Lily Collins, and Brit Marling.

Shot by Mario Testino, the actresses appear in an Art Deco set which was designed 'to evoke the all-white, Jazz Age interiors of English decorator Syrie Maugham, whose clients included Bunny Mellon, Elsa Schiaparelli, and the Duchess of Windsor', the magazine explained.

New In: See All Of The Red Carpet Looks From W Magazine's Pre-Golden Globes Party

Where the AFI Awards failed to excite in the red carpet outfit stakes, the W Magazine pre-Golden Globes party definitely made up for it. Emma Stone, Elizabeth Olsen and Ali Later stole the show but strong looks also came from Charlize Theron, Emmy Rossum and Rachel Zoe.

Which outfit is your favourite?

What They Wore: 2012 Critics Choice Awards

This week has been a busy one in Hollywood. Earlier on this week we had the People's Choice Awards and last night was the turn of the Critics Choice Awards.

Outfits on the night that realy stood out came from Charlize Theron in Azzedine Alaia, Michelle Williams in Chanel, Kristen Dunst in Christian Dior, Jessica Chastian in Balenciaga and Shailene Woodley in Calvin Klein. I was really excited to see what Elizabeth Olsen would wear over the next week but her yellow Emilio Pucci dress that she wore to last night's event hasn't got me excited about what is yet to come.

Find out what everyone wore in our gallery.

Rate or Slate: Elizabeth Olsen Wears Valentino

Despite a rocky start, Elizabeth Olsen is really into her stride when it comes to red carpet dressing and yesterday she really got it right. The actress, attending IFP's 21st annual Gotham Independent Film Awards, teamed this feminine Valentino gown with relaxed curls and the perfect satin clutch bag to finish.
