We all know about MAC's annual Viva Glam lipstick initiative to benefit their AIDS fund. As you'll recall, everyone from Elton John to Linda Evangelista have fronted the campaign and supported the cause, and now the cosmetics giant has just announced their 2012 spokespeople.
Replacing Lady Gaga is both Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin who are currently in Miami shooting the campaign shot by David La Chapelle. Martin s currently promoting his 'Best Of' album so I'm sure this is part of the promotion for that and of course, Minaj is a perfect choice. She teamed up with the brand for the launch of her debut album, 'Pink Friday' and is well known for her 'out-there' make-up looks.
Since Kate and William (now Duke and Duchess of Cambridge) tied the knot yesterday, images continue to be revealed from the party, as well as the official family shots taken before the couple took to the balcony.
So just because we know that you're still in Royal Wedding fever, here are a selection of images that have transpired over the last 24 hours.
Keep a lookout for which top designer will be creating Kate Middleton's wedding dress for her nuptials with Prince William (British Vogue reports the odds favouring Amanda Wakeley at 4/1) but now at least we know the date that the biggest wedding of our times will occur. It seems the happy couple will say their vows on April 29, a Friday, at London's Westminster Abbey.
Reports have claimed that the wedding could cost $40 million, including about $200,000 for the dress alone. That doesn't include the estimated $20 million in security costs. But aside from price, Kate and William's biggest worry? Looking too ostentatious in tough economic times at a ceremony that is said to have the likes of Elton John on its guest list.
The awe-inducing collection that was shown as Lee Alexander McQueen's last back in March brought those lucky enough to see it to silence, however it has come to light that the Angels and Demons themed collection was not the designer's last creation - McQueen had created a dress for close friend Annabelle Neilson as well as six incredible designs for the Rug Company.
Neilson's dress, a silk charmeuse gown with feathers decorating the neckline was created exclusively for Elton John's White Tie & Tiara Ball back in June, whilst the designer's line for the Rug Company was the result of three years worth of design and production. "For one rug, in a military brocade design, McQueen was inspired by a gold bullion-embroidered coat from his Fall 2001 runway show; for another, he mined his iconic skull pattern in striking white and silver," W reports.
The six piece collection consists of four rugs and two pillows, a third rug using the image of hummingbirds flying in the night sky, borrowed from his Spring 2009 collection. The hand knotted cashmere and silk rug is available alongside McQueen's other creations to order from the Rug Company, and will no doubt become instant heirlooms.
As recently reported, David Walliams and Lara Stone got hitched yesterday in London's Claridges, with the bride wearing a custom made Ricardo Tisci dress.
Lady Gaga wore thiswore this white custom made Calvin Klein cord inlay dress over a tulle-shell bustier dress and a knit body suit to perform at the Almay concert to celebrate the Rainfrest Fund's 21st birthday.
Tamara Mellon is no shrinking violet. The designer chose this revealing LBD and leopard print clutch to attend the 18th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards party on Sunday.
Victoria Beckham wore this asymmetric ivory and black printed dress to Elton John's AIDS Foundation Academy Awards party held at Pacific Design on Sunday.
New York Fashion Week is just more than a month away, and Lady Gaga knows that as well as anyone. The extremist singer, who last season performed a set at the Marc Jacobs/Visionaire party, is set to spread her bad romance to the annual amfAR gala fundraiser on 10 February. The Cipriani 42nd Street event already has a guest list including Carine Roitfeld, Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, Vanessa Redgrave, Meryl Streep and Sharon Stone.
The fete will honour Sir Elton John and David Furnish, along with Louis Vuitton Chairman and CEO Yves Carcelle. Rufus Wainwright will also take to the stage, performing songs from his take on Judy Garland's Carnegie Hall concert. What are the odds we'll see a duet that night?
The luxury goods industry is increasingly looking like the worst hit market as the onslaught of the recession continues. Some brands however are proving to be more fortunate than others given that they are owned by larger parent companies with several strings to their bows - case in point, LVHM (owner of Moet and Chandon, amongst other products).
Versace however, as an independently owned label is not in the same boat and has had to take serious measures to fend for itself. Having announced that it was to axe around 350 jobs worlwide, taken on a new CEO, closed down under-performing stores and signed Georgia May Jagger as the new face of the brand, it's clear that this is one brand that refuses to go down without a fight.
