When Esteban Cortarzar left Ungaro earlier this year after producing only three collectionsonly, we wondered what would become of the label which, in the past was famed for its Parisienne chic lines and bold colours and prints. Then came Estrella Archs, a Central Saint Martins graduate with seriously impressive credentials including working at luxury fashion houses such as Prada, Emilio Pucci, Nina Ricci and Cacherel, to name but a few, as well as launching her own small signature collection in Paris in 2007.

When you're only just beginning to drag out that winter wardrobe, it's sometimes hard to get excited for the upcoming spring season, however with all the elements shown in Emilio Pucci's SS10 collection - beautiful drapery, heavy fringing and those signature prints - we couldn't help ourselves. Peter Dundas is continuing his promising reign of the Pucci empire, with highlights of the collection being the geometric blue, long sleeved body con mini, the cream snakeskin, shoulder padded jacket, and the ethereal strapless maxi modelled by Lily Donaldson - short at the front, and longer at the back - with its flowing drapery enveloping from a corsage attached to the bodice.

Until recently, Lindsay Lohan was more famous for her partying than her career as an actress. This is all set to change as the 23 year old has been offered a new role, not as an actress, but as the artistic adviser and muse to the designers at Emanuel Ungaro. The label has had a radical shake up in recent months following the appointment of Estrella Archs, who has previously worked at fashion houses such as Prada, Nina Ricci and Emilio Pucci, as its new designer. Lohan and Archs will be working closely together to come up with a new direction and vision for the brand.
Lohan, who is tied into a 'multi-year contract', will be responsible for going to trunk shows, attending Ungaro events and in general 'be where the activities of the brand are'. For now however, she has been tasked with going through her wardrobe and putting together head to toe looks to enable Archs and Mounir Moufarrige, the president of the label, to get a sense of her style. When asked why the brand chose to go down this route, Moufarrige said that it was because '21st century muses are extroverts whose personal style and experience gives them a strong creative and artistic focus. Thus was our vision of combining the eye of a fashion creator with the eye of the ultimate luxury consumer, a celebrity'.
The upcoming S/S '10 collection under the new team, will be debuted on October 4th at Paris Fashion Week. If the success of Lohan's leggings range with inbuilt knee pads is anything to go by, it looks as though this may be a match made in heaven.

Zoe Saldana and Fergie both took a liking to this Emilio Pucci dress recently. Saldana wore the black version to the LA premiere of 'Star Trek'; whereas Fergie went for the green style to wear to 'Letterman'.
