Carine Roitfeld shows no signs of slowing down. Last week she confirmed that she has hired former Teen Vogue accessories director Shiona Turini to join the team of her forthcoming publication, CR Fashion Book, and Screen Daily also confirms that she has a film in the works.
Anyone who was a fan of the short documentary she did with W will be pleased to know that Fabien Constant, the director behind that documentary, has been granted 'unprecedented access' to her personal and private life for the project. Titled Mademoiselle C, the film will be 'an upbeat, fly-on-the-wall documentary' showing Roitfeld prepare for the launch of her new magazine. Shooting will continue right until the launch of the magazine in September and everyone from Karl Lagerfeld to Tom Ford are expected to make cameos.
Ever wanted unlimited access to all the areas of a designer's working life in the run up to a major seasonal show? Well thanks to Loic Prigent and Fabien Constant, the filmakers behind the Sundance Channel's mini series 'The Day Before', now we can. For the first season, their filming saw them globe trot from Paris to New York and then to Milan filming Sonia Rykiel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Proenza Schouler and Fendi. And for those who were not aware, Prigent and Constant were also responsible for the 'Signe Chanel' and 'Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton' documentaries shot in 2005 and 2007, respectively.
As they gear up to start filming for the second season of the series, the duo will soon be venturing behind the closed doors of more prestigious fashion houses. The filming of the subjects of this series will commence today in readiness for Alexander Wang's show on Saturday, Diane Von Furstenberg's show on Sunday, the Narciso Rodriguez show on Tuesday, before drawing to an close with Jeremy Scott's show on Wednesday.
