Zara is becoming one of our favourite high-street stores - not only because they never fail to offer easy-chic yet luxurious pieces at affordable prices, but also because of their ability to recreate catwalk looks at a drop of a hat. The Spanish label has struck again, this time with its Autumn/Winter '09 collection, which sees the brand pay homage to the likes of Chloe (with their slouchy, louche trousers), Louis Vuitton (with their feather-covered skirt) and of course Balmain (with, well, pretty much everything else). The collection sees the return of the tuxedo jacket, complete with the exaggerated shoulders, which Balmain has become famed for more than the past year, teamed with luxe skirts and trousers, too.
The stand-out piece in this particular collection would however, have to be the Balmain-inspired chainmail and zip detail sandals. As part of the limited edition "Zara Numbered Edition," the shoes come with their very own serial number on the sole and a specially designed bespoke shoe box, and will only be sold in 45 Zara boutiques. With only 1,000 of the sandals available, the price tag of $229 seems perfectly acceptable, given that only 999 other fashionistas in the world will be able to own these beauties.
For those of you who fancy treating yourself to a pre-New Year's Eve pair of dancing shoes, head to Flat Iron Zara (New York), which can be found on 101 Fifth Avenue and 17th Street.
