Yesterday was a busy night in New York. As well as the Time 100 party, the city also played host to the Chanel Artist Dinner during the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival at the Odeon. All of the names you would expect were there like Camilla Belle, Leigh Lezark and models Arizona Muse and Karlie Kloss. Even Julia Restoin-Roitfeld made an appearance showing her ever growing baby bump
It was just a few months ago that Heidi Mount'shusband was accused of rape (the charges were later dropped), and now the couple is back in the news again. Late last week, Heidi called the police about her hairstylist husband, Shawn, saying that she felt threatened and that he "had a knife." The couple is in the middle of divorce proceedings involving custody of their 4-year-old son.
Four months ago, Mount said of her relationship: "We are still together. Nothing about these false [rape] accusations has changed our relationship." Now, the unravelling relationship is turning into a tabloid battle. Sean said to the Post: "She was trying to set me up. It was just me and my son in the apartment. She made a 911 call, and 10 officers showed up. The officers said Heidi told them there was a disturbance and I had a knife that I was waving around threatening people. She wasn’t in the apartment. How could she feel threatened?…She made the call in order to get an order of protection against me, so she could get custody of our son. I believe she did it because I asked her through mediation to take a drug test. I believe she is using cocaine…We have been having problems for a while. I have been asking for a divorce for two years."
Last London Fashion Week, Shawn Mount, husband to Heidi Mount, was arrested for suspicion of rape. No charges were made at the time, and he was released pending trial. Today, Scotland Yard confirmed that no charges have been filed and "no further action will be taken."
Since the news was announced, Mount has stuck by her husband and has persisted to defend his innocence. Today the model confirmed: "We are still together. Nothing about these false accusations has changed our relationship." As expected, this was the news Shawn has been waiting for. "I am so relieved that this is over," he said. "I have always maintained my innocence."
Last week the Daily Mail revealed that hairstylist Shawn Mount has been accused of rape. The alleged assault is said to have taken place on September 20th at 1:30am in West London during London Fashion Week.
The husband to supermodel Heidi Mount was arrested the following day and was later released on bail but will have to return to London on November 11th. “He has not been charged and we are still investigating,” revealed a spokesman from Scotland Yard. Although Mount denies the allegations, DNA experts and police are investigating the bed linen and the room that the assault was said to take place.
While the usual faces appeared on the runways of this Couture Fashion Week, one bright young star beat her veteran model competition to top spot - Karlie Kloss, who closed for Armani Privé as well as opening both Jean Paul Gaultier and Christian Dior. Quite a feat for such a young model, she beat Carmen Kass, who opened for Michael Kors and Armani Privé, and Karolina Kurkova, who strode onto the catwalk first at Elie Saab.
Unusually for Chanel, the opening outfit was sported by Natasha Poly as opposed to the usual likes of Freja Beha Erichsen, Heidi Mount or Abbey Lee, and the show was closed by Iris Strubegger alongside Lagerfeld favourite Baptiste Giabiconi. Being the new face for the brand, it was unsurprising that Freja opened for Valentino, but overall it was still Kloss that topped the couture charts this season.
Having made its debut in Saint Tropez before selected guests on Monday, Chanel's newest short film is now available to view online. Creative director Karl Lagerfeld not only wrote and directed the feature - entitled 'Remember Now' - but also appears as a cameo role. "When I do a film, I see the movie before I've made it. I don't make scripts because it's written in my head. I like short one-liners" he explained.
Heidi Mount, who plays Pamela, a hostess adds "There's a script, but it's basically Karl telling you what he wants. He has the whole thing up in his head". Along with Mount, the 17-minute feature stars Abbey Lee Kershaw looking reminiscent of Jane Birkin, Freja Beha Erichsen emulating Mick Jagger and Magdalena Frackowiak as a sassy Brigette Bardot-esque character, as well as DJ Leigh Lezark and Lagerfeld's male muse of the moment, Baptise Giabaconi.
Whilst it had been confirmed last week that Heidi Mount was to star in the latest Chanel mini movie, the crew snapped by paparrazi over the weekend revealed a star studded line up for the short film, which is to be used for the upcoming Chanel Cruise 2011 show on the 21st of May.
Mingling with Karl Lagerfeld and Heidi Mount were French actor Pascal Greggory, Karolina Kurkova, Magdalena Frackowiak, Leigh Lezark, Freja Beha Erichsen and Abbey Lee Kershaw - and although most travellers are currently cursing the cloud of volcanic ash disrupting their holiday plans, Leigh Lezark seemed fairly happy on the second day of shooting. "@ Karl's Villa, volcano ash cloud: please never go away!" she tweeted from the St Tropez harbour.
We say any designer that can draw Carine Roitfeld to a show's front row has a decent stamp of approval already. But there was still Carlos Miele's Fall '10 collection to judge for that: a set of flirty, colour-blocked dresses combined with restrained fur swing coats and simple, chic trousers. Miele said he wanted to keep the season positive, which isn't hard to understand, since his native Brazil is pulling out of the worldwide recession faster than many countries.
Models including Constance Jablonski and Heidi Mount showed off Miele's charming hand-detailing with an easy air, and even the organic jeans from Miele's less pricy line felt expensive. Most memorable from the collection, though, will be the fans of colour on body-con minidresses, which we expect to see on the party circuit very soon. The only question left it: Which looks will Carine use in French Vogue?
Karl Lagerfeld is fast becoming a designer-come-film director to b reckoned with. Following the success of his first offerings for last year's Chanel Pre Fall ten minute (silent) film to mark the "Paris - Moscow" collection, Lagerfeld yesterday showcased this year's film to mark the release of the Paris-Shanghai Pre Fall collection. The footage was projected against the Shanghai city scape for added Chanel elegance of course, and sees Edita Vilkeviciute reprising her role as the young Coco Chanel in the 22 minute film. Starring alongside Edita will be Freja Beha Erichsen, Heidi Mount and muse of the moment, Baptiste Giabiconi. To see more, head to http://www.fashionologie.com/6510987.
