Isabel Marant is going from strength to strength. This year the designer will open her second American store in Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles and her interest in the all things American was clear in the collection as she reverted back to her Americana theme. All of the features that you would expect were there like the floral details on shirts, slim line cropped suede trousers and cowboy boots and despite the strong cowboy theme, the collection was actually really feminine. Many of the skirts came in multi-tiered styles and blouses were bloose fitted in cream and dresses often came in mini styles in white lace.

Marant always has a knack for creating pieces that women want to wear. All you need to do is look at the long waiting lists that her clothes attract but unfortunately, the collections are starting to feel samey. The Americana theme has been done extensively before and rather than experimenting with the signatures, Marant took a very literal approach to it. The same is true for the styling. The slouchy half-tucked in shirts and low slung trousers, while good, were no different from what we've seen from Marant in the past.
